To veil or not to veil that is the question

To veil or not to veil that is the question

How many of you are wearing a veil? I'm kind of stuck with this idea. When I 1st bought my dress I said no veil because I don't like them and I was just gonna wear a blingy headpiece. Now I see different styles online and they're actually nice. What to do??????

I wore one and loved it. I took it off after the first or second dance I forget, but loved having it as part of the day. There's definately sooo many styles out there.

Im doing a veil....which I will take off after the first dance during the reception, and just leave a flower in my hair. There are so many different styles I am sure you could find one that works for you

you will never ever get to wear a veil ever again...so Wear it!!!!

I honestly think that without a veil, you are just a girl in a white dress...I think the veil really completes the whole look and is what makes a bride look like a bride

thats obvi just my opinion!

you can always take it off at some point

@ lovey dovey, that's the same exact thing my boss told me. I told her my idea and she said Toya GET A VEIL!!!!!! Now everytime I see her she says get a veil get a veil get a veil

Ok so I must get a veil. I saw a few online and I heard Barrons in Levittown is infamous for veils so I'll check it out. Thanks ladies.

I am having a cathedral veil? i initially thought i was going to take it off right after pictures cause its so long and i feel like its going to get in the way of everything, but the lady in the store told me i have to wear it till the first dance.

What are other cathedral veil wearers doing?

I was absolutely positive that I was not going to wear a veil. Then when my dress came in and I went to try it on, my MOH who was with me said to just try one, and I loved it. Now I'm so happy that I decided to order one (Barrons, too - they are making exactly what I want)

If you are worried about the length of the viel and it getting in the way, you could always bustle the veil up for the first dance. It will shorten the length of the veil and still look beautiful! HTH!

I was so against wearing a veil at first but then decided to wear one just for the ceremony. It is a very short veil, I believe it's called shoulder length, but it does complete the wedding look!

Yes!!! I think it looks so pretty! I've seen it done where a button is added to the comb underneath the veil and a loop is added to the underside of the veil. When you are ready to bustle it, you just attach the loop to the button it bustles just like a dress!

At the end of this thread there is a pic of a veil bustled.

If you want to, you can definitely bustle the veil, but you don't 'have' to do anything. I'm so sick of people telling brides what they have to do. Do you WANT to wear the veil through the first dance?

At first I thought that I didn't want to wear a veil but realized that this is the only time in my life that I will be able to wear one. I think it completes the bridal look. I am only going to wear it for the ceremony though and then take it off.

im wearing a cathedral and a fingertip. Im taking the cathedral off after pictures and wearing the shorter one for the rest of night, To me a veil makes the bride even if you were it for just a short time.

I planned to only wear my veil for the ceremony and then for a few pictures and then take it off and just have my headpiece on for the reception. I wound up keeping it on all night.
