To video or not to video?

To video or not to video?

Hi ladies! My FH & I are paying for the wedding & trying to stay on budget. We are considering not getting a videographer. What do you think?

fh and i are torn on this as well. We originally thought we didn't want one bc we will probably watch it once...so it wouldn't be worth the money.

however...everyone keeps telling us we are going to regret not getting it. my sister didn't get one and she regrets it...she said the wedding goes so fast it would be nice to see all the things she missed.

now we are starting to lean towards getting one but not sure if i wanna spend the $$...ahh

We are paying ourselves as well and this was one thing I did end up getting...to me, 25 years from now we can look back on it and I just think that is such a cool thing. I still have videos of events from growing up and it's so nice to have to look back.

We spent a small fortune for our videography and photography. Honestly I haven't watched our video once after we watched it for the first time and I still haven't made a wedding album. (our photography package didn't come with albums) You'd be surprised at how much you don't look/think about your wedding after the day. We've been much busier buying a home and starting a family.

If you're on a budget, skip the videographer.

Friends of ours didn't becasue they to were trying to styaing on budget and they regret it because there is so much of your wedding that you miss and they wish they could see it

I am torn about this too. I know I probably wont watch it now but one day i will want to look back and watch it. But when my budget is already more than it should be it is hard to add to it.

I say get one. We didn't know if we wanted one either but we decided to hire one. We just watched it last week and we were so glad we decided to hire a videographer. BTW we went with halo videos and they're a very reasonably priced vendor. We didn't want to break the bank on this.

honestly if you can find someone who will do your wedding for a very reasonable amount than i would do it.... you def dont want to regret that. But your budget isnt really allowing you for that than i would def stick with the photographer, maybe upgrade your package so you get even more

I'm getting one. We didn't even question it. I feel like the day will go by so fast and will be such a blur- I want to be able to remember it. I'll cut corners elsewhere- like on flowers.

TO VIDEO!!! Defenetely,
I was on a tight budget and got a very basic package and let me tell you I have seen that video over 10 times since I got it. !!

I also say get it! DH and I have watched ours so many times and saw so many things we missed as the day went along. Its also nice to see family and friends in 'real time' action. Check on Craigslist.org you might be surprised what you can find online!

Fh and I decided to get a videographer. Alot of things you really miss on your day can be captured on film. I think it's a great investment and it will last a lifetime.

TO Video. It's one of those things where you wont watch it that often especially within the fiirst few years... but then when you have kids and stuff it will be nice to show them.

We're not hiring a videographer, however, I have asked a relative to videotape the ceremony only.

I have heard both sides and I think ultimately its up to you and how you feel about it. We are not having one, we needed to cut somewhere and i know i will watch it twice and thats it.

we were going to opt to not have one to save the money but we did it in the end. It is not a thing you watch over and over but it is nice to have it. Maybe ask a friend just to video tape it who has some ability to shoot?

Its not even been a year and we watched it with some friends the other night who wanted to see it and two people (my grandma and a family friend) passed away after the wedding and it was so nice to see them again happy!
