Toast

I just asked my best friend/bridemaid to make our toast at the wedding. I know it traditionally is the best man, but I'm not close with our best man and FH feels his brother won't make a good toast anyway. My friend was so excited. I am really happy that we made that decision. She has such a way with words and I'm so excited to see what she says. Anyone else having someone other than best man say a speech/toast at the wedding?

My Best Man and MOH both made speeches

Does the Best Man expect to be making one? Is he ok with not doing one?

Our Best Man assumed (as did we) that he would be doing one...

I actually don't know yet. I am leaving that up to FH...LOL, cop out!

I think I would like my dad to make a speech and maybe one of our mutual friends or something in addition to the Best Man. I have not sorted it out yet.

Usually the BM & MOH give a toast, but you also have to remember that either of the two might be shy & might not feel comfortable standing up in front of a bunch of people to say something, so ask them first.
