Today is my engagement party!!! *UPDATE*
I'm SO excited! I'm actually more proud of myself that I got up this early! LOL It's today at 1pm. I'm actually a little nervous and I can't imagine WHY I should be...but I am. I guess because the last time I had a party for ME with this much attention was my sweet 16 12 years ago!!
I wish you could see the favors I did. We're having it at a mexican restaurant so I made little 'goodie bags' for everyone with a mini bottle of Cuervo tequila and a plastic shot glass. For the kids, I made bigger goodie bags with some toys, candy, and a comic book each. Oh and my close girlfriend made me chocolate lollypops. My mom gave me some lip about having 'goodie bags' and I pretty much said 'Ma, it's my party...and if I want goodie bags then I WANT GOODIE BAGS!' She just laughed....love my mom. Oh and we're having a Tres Leches cake ::droooool::
SO EXCITED!!!
I'll let you know how it went...there was already all kinds of drama while planning this party...let's see if everyone can play nice today. *fingers crossed*

UPDATE
Okay so i'm EXHAUSTED!!! What a great day! We had it at Don Ricardo's in Babylon, a mexican restaurant. It was in the upstairs room which has a panoramic skylight and beautiful mexican decorations everywhere. I LOVE the food there!! I highly recommend it, it was something like $20 bucks a head (not including drinks) and you get lots of food! We went through TWENTY pitchers of sangria!!!!
My uncle and cousin played spanish guitar music through the party and my aunt sang me a song (in spanish) about a young girl getting married. It was so beautiful. I feel like I talked to everyone and no one at the same time. What a whirlwind!! If this is any indication of what the wedding will be like, i'm doomed!
Oh and my parents got the Tres Leches cake from Campbell's Bakery in Brentwood (home of the Tres Leches cake!! LOL) and it was outstanding!!
I can't even think of anything else. I'm so tired and so happy that I can't even think straight. It was an amazing party, something i'll never forget. I'll be sure to post the pictures in my albums for everyone to see as soon as I get them. Oh and we just finished opening all the cards...we made out like BANDITS!
take care! - Jess
