Today is not my day - LONG

Today is not my day - LONG

Ok for those of you who read throughout the day know that my day began w/ no heat & no hot water, but the good thing is that it was only 7 hours.

Work went well, I raced after work to get to the dentist since the girl on the phone (who confirmed app) (who is new, I'm going to him for 3 years & have a nice repor w/ everyone there, I know everyone else by voice) tells me that if I'm not there 15 minutes before my app, the office will be closed since I am the last appointment of the day, the one before me cancelled.

Ok let me get this straight since I'm coming from the NorthShore & traveling to the southshore during rush hour, and give myself 1 hour to get there, w/o being frantic while I drive. I have to now rush since someone else cancelled and you don't want to have to wait 15 min, for me to get there. In 3 years I never experienced anything like this with this office

I fly out of my office at 5:30 on the dot, telling my boss I will have to do somthing tommorow since I have to get to an appointment.

I get there, the office is filled
I have to wait 15 minutes before I'm taken in.

After the 'new'staff member is beyond rude to me. I excused myself and then asked another person who worked there to ask the doctor if I could speak w/ him. Maybe on another day I would have been tolerante to this, but I was really dissapointed w/ the level of disrespect I recieved.

So this girl, has the audasity (sp?) to come in to the closed door office to get somthing she needed for a client as she obvil. knew I requested to talk to the doctor alone to complain about her treatment. I'm astonished w/ the disrespect I rec'd, where my doctor had me complain to him about her, while she was in the room, , then he apoligized, and said he would speak to her. Then when I brought up that she came in to his closed door office, and I didn't like it. I requested to change to his other office (which was opened after I started treatment , & is closer to my home) and he denied me, b/c all my files were in that office.

What can I do from here? How can I as a consumer take action w/o cuting my nose to spite my face?

I wouldn't continue to shop if I was disrespected by a sales assoc, why would I seek medical treatment somewhere I was disrespected?

* Here're the catch, I'm done w/ my treatment in a few months.

Please be real & honest w/ what you would do, my FH is so calm, like, let's have dinner watch a movie have a good night's sleep & discuss it tommorow...

I'm so wanted to chat about it

If you're done with your treatment for a few months there's no reason they can't send your records to the other office. It's just ridiculous for them to refuse. Write to them, tell them you want them to switch you over because that office is closer to your home and you got stuck in traffic on your last appointment. Give them enough time to get the letter, and then call to make sure that it was done.

Finish your treatments and try not to talk to her if possible. Most likely she gives this level of 'service' to everyone and she will be gone eventually

Thanks should I send them a Certified letter?

This makes me so mad! How can they tell you that you can't transfer to a different office? Isn't that you choice? Maybe if you let him know it is between transferring your files or losing you as a patient, he will change his tune.

Threaten!

Tell them you'll take your business elsewhere if they won't transfer your files, that you don't deserve to be treated like this!

Sorry to hear you were treated this way and you had a pretty bad day earlier. I would definitely go somewhere else, but being you only have a few more treatments, maybe ou should stick it out, then on your last treatment express to your dentist that you will no longer be coming back.

Can I do that? Would another doctor, start @ this point so late in the process? Is changing doctors an option at this point? I really liked my doctor before this. I'm now indifferent on him since he's not making right by me w/ this.

I'm sorry...maybe I missed the beginning, but what procedure are you having done?

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of treatment??? braces?? I'm going to my orthodontist on thurs and I can ask him if it is, if it's possible to change after you've already had them placed...I would be PISSED tho! I don't know if i'd want to go back either. U can always see how they treat u the next time and take it from there.

Those are your recrods and he has to give them to you by law. THere is no reason why you shouldn't be able to take your records to his other office. Tell him that you're going to report him.

are you positive that this is a law?

Me personally-I can't deal with people like that. I would go to another office.

I would have wrung her neck
I would tell him to transfer your files or you will go elsewhere. By law, as far as i know they HAVE to transfer your files. And go somewhere else if they wont do it.
Good Luck
