Today is turning out to be really bad....**update**

I just cried my eyes out a work, outside, in the parking lot b/c I have come to the realization that 1) I have a spending problem 2) I really dislike my job 3) That I need FH to handle my finances. He calmed me down, but I still feel so sad. I NEVER cry at work and today I broke down and sobbed. And to make it worse, of course there are nosy people starring at you and talking shyt and stuff. I really need to go home today. I should have stayed in bed I swear...

First of all THANK YOU, ALL OF YOU for the support. Seriously. I really needed the words of encouragement today. So a couple of things: I surrendered my credit cards to FH. He than in turn handed me the DVD of Confessions of a Shopaholic with a HUGE smile on his face. Gee, a hint maybe? Anyways, as for the work thing, today was a rough one. I was so happy 5 o'clock came quickly. I went to the gym, and beat the crap out of the elliptical and bike. I feel sooo much better.

I'm telling you, credit cards are the devil. And so are stores. And so are sales... although some sales are plain amazing... but anyways, FH went over everything and said it wasn't that bad, but he told me to fork over the cards, so i did. And no more shopping for dresses to wear out...he says I have enough lol.

But really... you guys are great and thank you so much for the advice! It really did help!
I'm going to have a big glass of wine now...

First take a few deep breaths and then I would just go home. If you need any help with the whole spending issue, FM me....I was there about two years ago and FH took over as well.

Remember tomorrow is a new day and I'm sure everything will be fine!

I've never really had a spending problem but this is what i do.

The day i get paid i pay all of my bills. I take a certain amount out and put it into savings. I really only leave myself w/500-800 in emergencies.
I don't do it but i've also heard only paying with cash helps you realize how much you spend instead of using a cc or debit card.

Also only carry 1 credit card w/you. Leave the other home.



I can't help with the job thing cuz i HATE my job too but i think i'm stuck here for another 2 years.

yay for having a job and a paycheck....but if you really feel unhappy, start looking elsewhere

take a deep breath, trust me youre not the only one, i would def talk to fh, thats what i did and he figured it all out for me and def keeps me in check

I have a terrible spending problem too, but i've learned a few tricks and it seems to be helping a little...

At first I was trying to save money so I could pay everything is big chunks, BUT i realized that while I was saving and earning little to no interest, I was only paying minimums and accumulating MORE interest on my cards!! So stupid.

Now, I pay as much as I can every week and leave myself with a fair amount of money for the week, in pocket and in the bank. I also monitor my bank account very closely.

I'll tell you one thing though, I moved out almost a year ago and now I'm like, wow, what the hell did I do with all the money that i use to pay rent now??? It's a little scary that I was wasting that much money.

Don't laugh, but I try to do a lot of my shopping on Ebay now and i also try so hard not to pay retail when new things are released at my favorite stores!

I did have a huge money panic attack last week, cause we had right away a lot of expanses this month. it was very scary, cause I couldnt breath, so I totally know what ur going thru.

as girls suggested, try using cash only.
use CC ONLY for emergencies.
monitor bank acct on daily basis.
and tell urself that there is nothing that u really need other than food and paying the utility bills.
make sure to put aside some money each pay check.
and we're all here for u

i was their a couple of years ago. i had so much credit card debt that FH had to pay it off for me. i always thought i would be fine because i always made more then the minimum due & always paid on time. but doing these things don't help when you have lots of cards with lots of crap on them. my FH currently has all my credit card hidden from me. its annoying to have to beg him for one if i had to buy clothes but its worth it.
