I'm getting married at Captain Bill's in April. Anything in particular you'd like to know?

I just booked them this past weekend. I'm so very excited about them. I was just checking around. Do you know if the tent outside is air conditioned?

Tent is not air conditioned. Advice...see if guests can enter cocktail hour another way besides the reception room.

As far as I know the tent is not air conditioned, but I would imagine its not too hot b/c its on the water and it has high ceilings.

Why the suggestion to enter another way besides the reception room? Is it personal preference or a bad experience?

Thanks!

Personal preference. Guests just appreared to b/c confused. Someone did not seem to be guiding them to the cocktail area. Also, see if there is a way to keep guests form sitting in reception room during cocktail hour. there was not enough seating and many of the guests were eating in the reception room during cocktail hour. But this my not upset you. By the way...the food and presentaion was one of the best i have seen. Food did not taste like catering hall food at all!!!

This is great to hear, thanks:). Yeah, those are good comments and suggestions. Actually when we booked I asked them repeatedly to make sure someone is there directing folks to the cocktail room - but I'll reiterate that and also not to let people into the reception room to sit- I agree that will bother me.

I recently saw Body Rock at a wedding and they were great! It might depend on the amount of involvement you are looking for from your DJ and/or MC.

I am getting married at the bayview house at Captain bills in 3 weeks!!!! i am so excited. my cocktail hour is in the restaurant area, not the deck, and i'm happy because i didn't want people walking through the reception room beforehand. i'm sure it's not a big deal but i'd just prefer them to see it when it's 'ready'.

not sure about heat a/c on the deck because it's definitely not thing i'll need - i'll need heat instead! good luck with everything and let me know if you have any other questions. we had a tasting about a month ago and it was awesome - food is their forte:) i'm from bay shore so i've eaten there dozens of times...

Tommy's - I've seen them in action and they are amazing -- If you do a search, you'll find many rave reviews for them as well. Good luck!

I agree, I've been to wedding with Tommy Tunes and we booked them because they blew our minds. I would search the brides review section for Tommy Tunes. These two negatives a couple more are bad, at least 30 other brides raved about them.

I've never been to Captain Bills.
