Sorry Jessica, I have to be the earth science teacher. (even though I'm not one anymore.) Its the summer solstice, not the vernal equinox. The vernal equinox is March 21, when spring begins, and we have 12 hours of day and 12 hours of night.

That's right, I didn't even realize it! Sounds like a fun time Jess, wish I could take my FI on a picnic. Hope you 2 have a great time!!!

Yep, thats what it means... You won't really notice it for a month or two though, its about a minute or two shorter each day until Dec. 21, the shortest day of the year.

hey ladies....that's the beauty of it being the longest day- the picnic will be AFTER work...so as to enjoy the coming of night even more.
