I cannot believe how everthing is coming together, Tonite & tmrw is out pre cana

We didn't want it to be a long process so we found one that was a one day only thing-- but when we were there we liked it and had fun (it was with other couples).

its tonite from 7-9 & then tmrw from 3:30 - till mass. I have no idea what to expect , I mean i read whats posted here & all , but im a lil nervous. I know the Our Father & thats it. Mike was a alter boy & went to catholic school so he can handle this.. Its at the church.. Ive heard people say u take a test is that so ??

FH & I have precana tomorrow - one day. I am actually looking forward it to..I don't know if FH is but....it should be interesting!

What do you have to bring? a copy of your baptismal certificate?

All you have to bring is the card that was mailed to you from the Diocese confirming your time and date of pre-cana.

We did it a couple of months ago and had a two day session like your having tonight and tomorrow. It really was nice and FH and I found it very informative and a bonding experience. Tonight they have a small prayer service and then tomorrow you just listen to the host couple speak and then you do different questions throughout the day...really isn't as bad as we had originally thought....I hope you and Mike get a lot out of it.

Hey Tone! It will be fine. We didn't have to get up in front of everyone or anything like that. No test. Just a booklet that you and Mike will answer questions from and then the two of you only talk them over. So if you thought you knew each other, all these questions might show you that you don't know each other that well. That is what they are trying to do.....make sure you are ready for marriage. Make sure the two of you have thought everything through together. We had a great time and meet other couples that were really nice. I'm sure you will have a good time. It's not that bad. I had been nervous too, but it turned out fine. Have fun!

pre-cana is the BEST thing me and FH have ever done together. It really opened our eyes to alot of things and made us so much closer. have fun!

Well, at our Pre-Cana we did not take any tests. We went in, sat with four other couples. Deacon John came in- popped in some cheesy video from the 80's about 'what makes a good marriage' which was hysterical... Then, he talked with his wife about married life which was the cutest part!!! Then, we each went around the room and told the story of how we met. Then, we broke for lunch (he ordered in pizza) I held their pet rabbit who was deaf lol (they have him in a little hutch in the rectory- adorable!!) and then we went back and he blessed the rings, gave us our certificates and took us next door b/c there happened to be a wedding that day that he was doing! So we sat in on the wedding which was pretty and then we left

The FOCCUS is where the 'test taking' comes into play- it's a personality test and they ask you like 'life questions' to see if you guys want the same things like if you want kids or not, if either of you have any problems that you might not know about, etc. It's just to see that you guys are compatible-- if there are any 'irregualarities' then they just sit you down and talk about it.
