everyone told me that i should have before my e-party which was just after our one year mark... I didnt, but I kinda feel I should have. I've heard its a lot of fun so i am waiting till everything else is stressing me out maybe that will reduce the stress of the rest
It was alot of fun, FH loved scanning everything lol give a guy a device like that and they'll enjoy it lol. It will take a while though and it can tire you out lol
did you register for everything in one day? Or did you just start with some basics and add on later.. cause FH said he'd rather go to the store to look at things.. but i don't wanna go to scan like 7 items and leave... (he def. gets antsy too and since we really dont know everything we need yet, i can see it being an issue..lol)
Just looking to see if you did most of it in one shot.. and if you thought it was easier that way.. or to do it little by little over a period of time between online and in store..
we did alot in one day, we did dishes, all the kitchen appliances, even little things such as ladle's, baking pans, dishrack lol, bedroom set and so on...I have added a few things after but did it online but most we did it in the store...it can take 2-3 hours and FH was into it, i think that time frame we both were like ok we need to go eat now lol
'
denise...how many things got discontinued on you..if anything? and how many things did you have to change..it almost sounds like its worth it to wait..
theres about 10 items that aren't available online anymore, about getting discontinued im not 100% sure, i think that something may get discontinued in a few months or so but like i said i dont even read those letters anymore...in a few months i'll go over my registry and make the changes, i really don't want to deal with it constantly or to change it now and then get another letter about changes and change it all over again
Do the stores notify you if an item is about to get discontinued?
yes they send you a letter in the mail whenever theres any little change
That's great. I never knew they did that.

Re: Too early to register?
We registered in 2005 because of our eparty and over the past year and a half, I have received gifts from my parents- like the bedding I wanted I got last year for my birthday and I got a ton of china for Christmas. Doesn't hurt to register now.

Re: Too early to register?
we registered from some stuff....but just major things like formal china. two of my cousins had experienced many of their things being discontinued by the times of their showers.

07er crashing! FH and i registered more than a year before the wedding and i ended up deleting the whole registry and re-doing it at another store! i changed my mind on ALOT of things. my wedding is 4 months away and i am still adding things on there! i would say if you can wait til the 6 month mark, JMO coming from experience

Re: Too early to register?
I'm going to wait until at least the fall to avoid too many things getting discontinued. My friend did hers 9 months before her wedding and things still got discontinued in that shore period of time
Now it's a little bit easier for me since we have a coat of our kitchen paint up, have our tile down and chose our granite....I plan on looking at things to get ideas really soon, that's for sure!

Re: Too early to register?
It might be a little early unless you have an e-party coming up. what about just registering for china or something? If you register too early some of the stuff may be discontinued

Re: Too early to register?
i am getting married 10/18/08 and i already created mine because my FH's family kept asking me about it. Somebody already bought me my everyday dinnerware because it was on sale. quite a bit has gone on sale and i think that encourages people to buy it early so it works out better for everyone...you get the things you want and they get to buy it at a sale price. it's never too early to register...you can always change it if you need to along the way...plus its one less thing you have to do closer to the wedding.

I don't think it is early. It is up to you. You can always just start it and finish it later on.

Re: Too early to register?
We won't register until after we hit our one year mark. We really have no place to put the stuff, but just in case people want to get us stuff for Christmas, we'll have some things on the registry. We'll go heavy duty on linens when we start house hunting again so we know what color the bathroom will be and how many rooms will need curtains, etc. I can't wait to do it though. I've heard it's so much fun!

Re: Too early to register?
FH and I had a lot of friends and family telling us to register and so we registered for some stuff...i recommend fortunoffs. A lot of their stuff is there all year around. Stay away from anything seasonal ie summer, fall, holiday stuff (that is always discontinued) We have not rec'vd anything off the registry jsut yet, but as mentioned before some people tend to get things for birthdays and holidays that is on the registry.
