Too many no's!!

Too many no's!!

We're getting a lot more no's than we thought we would. But no biggie, right? Cause we have a B list. Too bad everyone who is a NO waited until the last minute, so I can't sent out a new round of invitations with 9/25 as the RSVP date. We do have people we would love to ask to come to our wedding, but what's a non-awkward way to do it? Just hand them an invitation and explain? But how do you say, sorry we didn't ask you initially but can you come now? I feel like no matter what it'll be awkward. What do you think?

Personally, I don't think there is a non-awkward way to do it and don't really agree with the whole B list thing, but I guess the only way would just be to mail them an invitation and reprint an RSVP card with a different date or something to that extent.

I like this idea, maybe a little note that explains your rsvp date has been extended but you'd still like to know asap if they can join you.

I like this idea. Maybe print a little note on card stock that matches that says the rsvp date has been extended to such and such date. Then write 'we hope you can join us for our special day'

Too many no's!!

I personally wouldn't tell them anything. I would call them in about a week to confirm receipt of the invitation and play it off that the first time around it got returned back to me.

I kind of agree! It's a pretty clever idea. The only thing is if it's a lot of people and they know eachother & happen to mention it, they might find it weird that none of them got the original invitation. But if they aren't likely to discuss it with eachother then I say go for it! Mail does get lost

BRILLIANT!! It's a sneaky but clever idea. And since this week is the RSVP I'll play it off like, just following up, never heard from you...

We did this and in all honesty the mail has lost soooo much of our stuff in our whole wedding process it is 100% true and valid to say 'hey we have been having a lot of issues with the mail and things not getting to where they need to be or getting back to us. Did you get the invitation? We actually tried mailing 4 invitations that kept coming back to us but took a while to be returned for reasons I still don't get. Where we just ended up hand delivering them cause the post office was a nightmare. People understand and we called people that we originally sent invites to to find out their response it was not awkward at all.

This! about 10 of our engagement party invites got lost in the mail even after i double and triple checked that addresses were right. It was terrible! His aunt never received one, mom never called to confirm her rsvp, she thought she wasn't invited, didn't come, but sent a gift! Needless to say there was profuse apologizing. I think calling them as a 'follow up' is a great idea!

How about an online invitation? Not sure if that's tacky but it might work!

You are getting married on my birthday, I'll rsvp yes LOL I would also say you resent the invitation bc the first one was returned.

I sent out my b list before I even got my nos back. I sent some to friends at work who knew I originally couldn't have them but wanted to invite them . They were all super appreciative to have been asked and it was honestly no big deal .

We are actually not getting enough no's! We were hoping for more but like everyone is replying yes. It's gotten to the point where when we open the envelopes we kinda hope its a no hahaha. Yesterday we got one back from friends who live in Virginia and when i told FH it was a Yes, he was like, 'c'monnn, this is horsesh1t!!!' Sounds terrible I know but we mean it in the nicest way possible lol

Hahah that's great. But totally understandable bc you expect no's to keep with the budget!

I would say send a text saying you never heard back. FH texted all of his friends we hadn't heard from because no one really has rsvped to the wedding and out RSVP date is for tomorrow! One of his friends didn't get the invite and thought he wasn't invited! His roommate received it though, and we sent it to the same address. We offered to resend it he said not to worry and feels better knowing he was invited and that it got lost in the mail.
