Too many slow songs???

Hi Everyone, I have a question. I have this thing for slow songs (I love sooo many of them), and I want to incorporate them into the reception. BUT, I also really want people to be out there and dancing and having a great time. So, my question is this... including the typical dances like first dance, second dance, mother/son, and father/daughter dances, I have 12 slow songs. Is that too many??? All your opinions would be appreciated. Thanks!

I'm probably going to have the same problem when I put my song list together. Twelve songs at approximately 4 mins each is less than an hour of slow songs. Doesn't seem too bad to me.

could you have some of them played during dinner? that way you can still hear them.

I know! FH and I never think there are enough slo w songs at weddings..but 12 is a lot. I think playing some fo them during dinner is a good idea, toward the end of dinner, as people finish eating they cna get up and dance..but ti doens't ruin the party for all of the singles

IMO, I never hear enough slow songs. I want at least 2 or 3 slow songs that I can dance to with FH.

Re: Too many slow songs???

We were asked to pick only 5 slow songs to be played where people would dance (not including dinner and such) the rest of the songs I wanted were played at the CH and during dinner. I got to hear them all.

12 is a lot to dance to, JMO.

Re: Too many slow songs???

Thanks for all your great ideas ladies! I picked a few to be played during dinner. I now have 5 slow songs for everyone to dance to (including our 2nd dance where everyone will come up and join us). What would I do without you all?

Re: Too many slow songs???

I gave my DJ a list of all the slow songs I wanted played, in order of importance. Then I left it all up to him. He played a lot of them, but knew when to mix in the faster stuff. The dance floor was full throughout the night.
