My Mom and sister think I am crazy since I already have photog, church, venue and limo booked. I am not getting married until Sept 2010 but I think it's better to get this stuff out of the way than stress about it!
It's just annoying they think I am 'jumping the gun' when in reality a year of wedding planning, working full time and going to grad school part time can be a bit stressful!!

You're not crazy! It's good to get these huge things out of the way. Plus, if you wait until the date nears you may miss out on getting the vendors that you really want. Things book up SO quick!

ugh... everyone makes comments about how much stuff ive done... I dont see the point in waiting... so no its never too soon!

It's definitely not too soon! I'm getting married May 2011 and am booking all of my major vendors now or in the near future!

my mom said the same thing in the beginning and now she is thanking me since we got locked into 2008 pricing! so definitely book whatever you can to lock in prices before they go up next year.

Nope...and if they keep buggin' you, tell them that you want to take advantage of the poor economy and negotiate with all of your vendors for extras in your packages.
That will make them zip their lips!

I dont think its to early at all. I am getting married July 2010 and I will have all the major vendors booked by October. That's 9 months in advance but I would rather have it all taken care of, I say go for it!!

i agree its never too early to book stuff! I feel like its way to early to do a lot of stuff, personally, but booking the big vendors i feel should be done ASAP! IMO
