I want to send early, maybe even next weekend.. for a couple of reasons.
1. Getting married on Jan 17 which is MLK weekend. 3 day weekend for a lot of people we are inviting. Dont want them to make other plans for a weekend getaway or anything.
2. RSVP date is Dec 17. I know thats way before the wedding, but with the holidays in between I just didnt want people to forget to respond with all the christmas cards and other obligations they have. Plus, I want the christmas break (I'm a teacher) so I can work on menus, favors, etc. so I will need a number.
3. Its a second wedding, and we have lots of people that I really have no idea whether they will come or not and I would like to know already!!
Do you think October 17 is too early to send?
When are the other January brides sending invites?
Thanks. Terri

To give you an idea: I should have my invites tomorrow, so I hope to have them sent out by the end of this week or Monday the latest. The RSVP date is Dec 1

I think that time frame sounds good... you will need to send them earlier because of the holiday season!!

Re: Too soon to send invitations?
I would send them now. I put my rsvp date as 1 month before my wedding....cant tell you how many people didnt respond! Ugh! And they had them for 2.5 months! It will really help to have an earlier rsvp date so you have time to chase down those awesome few who dont send it in on time!

Re: Too soon to send invitations?
I'm sending mine out 3 months in advance and don't really have any holiday issues with the time frame

Re: Too soon to send invitations?
I think it might be a little early, maybe wait 1 week? I think people usually send them out 8 -10 weeks prior.

Re: Too soon to send invitations?
I am the same date as you, and we are looking to mail out by the 31st of October, with an RSVP date of December 1. This way the invites dont get lost in the Christmas/Hanukkah/all the December Birthdays with our friends and family.
I also want people to be able to get hotels and flights at decent rates

I think because of the holidays it's better to send them earlier rather than later...
