im so sorry... that bothers me too.. when people try to pull of a style that is so clearly not them... it def sounds like a midlife crisis type of thing... i wish i had some other words of advice for you...

Wow i'm so sorry you are going through this . You should sit down and have a very long talk with your mom and let her know how you feel, i hope you can work things out

im not trying to be funny, but it does sound like your mom's going through a mid life thing... or maybe shes just screaming for attention? like you have the wedding, your dad's sick, and your sis is doing her own thing, so maybe this is her way to get noticed? idk, maybe trying spending sometime alone with her

This sounds right to me too. She might be depressed and feel like she needs to act out in order to get noticed. I think a long talk might be in order. give her a glass of wine and ask her how she's doing...

First off I know you love your Mom, and it's not just giving birth that counts, it's all the rest
BUT cut her slack..I bet since your Father got ill, she is feeling OLD. As someone in their early 40's, it's pretty freaking scary how time flies and you feel old.
How old is your Mom?
Some might think I dress young but I always ask my 11 year old SDs if I look silly and they are honest. I am wondering why she does not listen to what you say, you are her daughter and wouldn't lie...

she's angry.. her daughter is getting married, husband ill, she is older...it makes her feel like HER life is ending...
It ***** for us women. Men get distinguished, we get put out to pasture and are constantly having to look young well when we can't.
I know it bothers you but see where it's coming from and try to be sympathetic.
Did she get married young? Maybe she is reflecting on her youth and has regrets...no offense...
But I do that all of the time..so does my Mom and FMIL....

That stinks! Maybe you and your sister should have a talk with your mom and let he know that you have noticed some changes and that they are bothering you. I recently started believing that Facebook changes people, I swear! Good luck with everything!

again, coming from an oldie..I don't think it's attention, I think she is re-living her youth...
Talking to someone would help, it's not a bad thing...
Also, maybe include her on fun young things being wedding related..maybe you guys can have a manni/peddi/spa day!
