tooth whitening -- first time -- problem!!! -- UPDATE!

Has anyone used the nite white tooth whitening trays? I decided to use them over zoom because I have very sensitive teeth. Well, I used them last night for the first time. FH picked my trays up from the dentist for me and relayed the instructions. Seemed simple --put a dot of solution into each tooth on the tray, put on the trays. Well, when I took them off after an hour, the edges on one tooth are visibly whiter already, but that's it. It looks kind of odd and I am freaking out!!! I will call the dentist once I get to work, but I was wondering if anyone else had this happen, and does it even out over the 7-10 days?
Please reassure me!
I was crying last night! Should have used zoom, how can we be trusted to do these trays properly ourselves?!?

I just got back from dentist -- all is well! I used too much last night, FH gave me poor instructions! They said to just skip tonight, and that it is normal for different areas to whiten first, but it will even out. The key thing is to apply the right amount evenly, but if you see certain spots are whiter than others, you put less gel there, and more in the less white spots. Whew! I feel better!

bump -- I left work and am going to dentist now to let them have a look and give me proper training in how to use these things!
For those who haven't done these trays, do zoom!!!!! These things are a pain in the as*!

I'm sure they will be fine once the dentist shows you how to do it.

I want to do Zoom but I don't think I can because I have crowns. The last thing I want is for some of my teeth to be bright white and my crowns the color they matched to my teeth.

I tried one of the tray systems - bought from the supermarket called PlusWhite I think - and I don't think it did very much at all. Hope yours evens out!! I am going to do the whitestrips next month I think, maybe in sept. so that it lasts!

I did the Crest Whitestrips, and I also noticed after the first few days that my teeth were a little 'blotchy' in their whiteness. Some areas were really white, and others not as much.

I called my dentist and asked him... do I stop the treatment now, so I don't make things worse, or do I keep going, and they'll get better?

He said that it's common, because the 'goop' doesn't always distribute evenly over every tooth in the same way. But that after 7 days, it all evens out.

I still feel like I have a bright white streak on one tooth, but then again, I'm also sticking my face right up into the mirror and obsessing!!!

Hopefully your doctor will be able to shed some light on this for you, and you'll have the same experience that I did... that it all evens out by the time you're done treatment.

Another tip, by the way, is to use sensodyne before and after treatment... even with it, my teeth were quite sensitive. So i can't imagine what it would have been like without it!

Yay! Glad to hear it all worked out! I'm really glad I did it... a good smile is important for the big day, especially in a white dress :)

I just bought celebraty sexy white, I got it today. It looks like a small lip gloss. Doesn't taste like anything. I will let you know how it works.

ok i typed a wholee long post about zoom(sorry im crashing)but it didnt go thru.. im too lazy to retype so Ill make this short lol..

most dentists will give u custom molded trays to take home free of charge if u do the zoom..

i had it done 2 yrs ago and its totally worth it.. just becareful when ur getting it done. DO NOT MOVE UR MOUTH AT ALLL.. i did and the bleach got on my gums and burned the crap out of them. My gums turned as white as my toofuses

i was in soo much pain i couldnt sleep for days. That usually doesnt happen during zoom, but it happend to me (of course) and i justed wanted to let u ladies know the risks...

my ums went back to their normal color and the pain went away in a few days... i would def do it again if i had to, but just becareful!

thanks! I already paid my dentist for trays and the 10 day kit -- he recommended that to me over zoom because I have very sensitive teeth and gums! But I find it to be a royal pain in the aS*. It better be worth it!

What kind of gel are you using? I used the zoom gel in the trays and it made my teeth so sensitive I could die. Plus they didn't even get any whiter.
