Re: Anyone want a beagle puppy????

I think she means the person who went soooo out of their to get the dog and is now so easily giving him away.
I have to say-I agree.
I was 23 when I got my dog..he was 10 weeks old..I worked in the city and lives in East Moriches. I woke up EVERY day for three months at 2:30 in the morning when he would wake up and cry because he had to pee. Then I would go back to sleep and wake up again at 4:30 am to go to work. I didn't get home until 7pm but made sure he was walked during the day. When he was eight months old..I moved to Queens. I really had to move and waited until I found a place that would accept him. I was pretty broke and had nothing but made sure he always had food and paid $60 a week to have him walked. I would NEVER give my dog away. I would live on the streets before I would do that.
Yes, it is hard work..it's usually a 10-13 year commitment..but you are supposed to realize that BEFORE you adopt/buy one. There have been many times that I thought I would slap the sh*t out of my dog Jack. He's eaten my furniture, a whole through the wall, he's costs me thousands of dollars..but I chose him and I love him and I could never give him away because it's hard work. Of course it's hard work. Eveything in life is hard work. That to me is ridiculous.
JMO but I had to get that out.

Re: Anyone want a beagle puppy????

I sent her a FM saying that I would be interested in taking the puppy. I am a dog lover and it upsets me to see that a little puppy needs a home. She is going to send me pics. The only thing is she told me that the reason she cant keep him is because where they are moving after they get married....they arent allowed to have him.. But on here she said that she just doesnt want him. Again I hope I am able to give this little guy a good home!!

I hope you are too. You're a good person.
Like I said in my post..I would sleep on the streets before I would give my dog away.
That's just me though.

Re: Anyone want a beagle puppy????

come on ladies, she is doing something that is not easy, giving away a dog is not easy, at least she is trying to find a loving home, there are plenty of people who just neglect their dogs/animals...

By the way freddybear, i spoke with fh and he said the dog will get too big for us, since i want a puppy that stays little... and he wants us to wait til after we get married....so i will ask around and let you know

Re: Anyone want a beagle puppy????

I agree that there are a lot of people who just neglet their animals or send them to a pound but GIVING your dog away is NEGLECTING him!!!
The thought of moving and not having my dog with me is not even something I would consider. No dog=no me. I wouldn't move to a place that wasn't dog-friendly.
AND..she said she CAN have him..she just doesn't WANT him.
She didn't realize it would be such hard work.
Um..you figure that out BEFORE you commit to it.
A puppy is like a baby. It cries, it sh*ts itself, it has accidents..it's a pain sometimes. But would you give your baby away because it's too much work?!
It's just not right.

Re: Anyone want a beagle puppy????

I agree that she should have decided this before she got the dog, but the fact is that she is trying to do the right thing, she knows she cant handle it, and doesnt want to, thats her business...we dont have to agree- all she is doing is asking for new loving owners, not for our opinions on her choice...thats why i think some of the posts got a bit rude, its not necessary, we dont have to agree with her, she is looking for owners, and if we know of any we can let her know...if she asked for our opinions it would be different, but thats not what her post stated...

Ok..I agree she didn't ask our opinions but I just couldn't help myself on this one. It's a sore subject with me because I'm a dog owner and I know all the hell I went through with/for my dog. I chose him and would never choose to give him up. But like I said..that's just me. It's not for everyone.

Re: Anyone want a beagle puppy????

When i first got my dog he was very sick the store we had bought him from neglected to mention that, at first we thought maybe we should take him back, but then said no way could we do that he was already part of the family and it had only been 1 day. we took him to the vet and they wanted him there overnight. just that one night without him was torture. and for weeks every night i sat in the kitchen with him because they said we should have him in one room so he could adjust and learn where he was to eat and drink and at that time was training on a weewee pad. he wouldnt sleep unless someone was with him. eventually we started letting him sleep in beds and now its 5 years later and we cant imagine life without him.

whatever you decide to do, good luck and i hope everything works out.

I AGREE 110%.
If you can't handle it or think it's just going to be fun fun fun all the time, then don't get one!!! It's that simple. I have moved three times in the three and a half years I've had my dog and have managed to find a place that would allow him every time. Yes, it was harder than if I didn't have him, but I wouldn't just give him away because it's such hard work.

I Agree!!!

Enough with the opinions already!!!!!

If you are able and willing to adopt a cute little puppy, then post.....

Otherwise, be nice!!

Things happen for reasons, and this doogie needs a new home!!

I agree, this is yet ANOTHER post that got out of hand....I feel like I'm on 'the knot'

Re: Anyone want a beagle puppy????

Ok, I just logged on and have read EVERYONE's opinion!!! I got up, cooled off and came back. Always works!!!! So much better to think before speaking. And so I did.

THANK YOU for all those that are sticking to the original post which is.......Does anyone want a beagle pup. And to those who have said some nice things in my defense thank you.

FOR THOSE that felt they had to vent, I'm glad you did. You are entitled to your own opinion and I totally respect that. I am not taking your opinions personally b/c I don't know you and you do not me. You do not wear my shoes, and until you do, then you can judge me. I know what I am and what I am not. So I refuse to explain on a post.
The puppy is fine right where he is and is treated with love and care. Maybe we will find a home and maybe not. If we don't, then he stays right where he is.

Never in a million years did I think a simple post would get out of hand. Never knew I was going to make someone sick, or be judge.
It's all good.

Re: Anyone want a beagle puppy????

must be nice to think you know so much that you can JUDGE another person and her situation

carolyn...i don't think that puppy will get along with my 8 cats. yes...8 cats. and unfortunately we are in the process of possibly getting rid of one of the cats, who we love dearly, because of behavioral problems that are beyond our control and are affecting our other 7 cats. we've tried everything and been to 2 vets. nothing is working. it's been going on for over a year and we're at our wit's end.

don't listen to others...i think it's GREAT that you're trying to find this little pup a home and aren't even asking for money. you are obviously acting in the PUP'S best interests. just make sure you screen whoever you give it to and give it one last kiss.

BTW...did you lose my number???

Re: Anyone want a beagle puppy????

What i think is that maybe you should just try a little more. This little guy loves you and yes its hard. My puppy is 9 months old and many of times i was at my breaking point. Its like having a kid. Sometimes i used to just cry because my dog was so bad. And living in an apartment with a puppy, who has to go out every two hours, is so difficult, but it will get better. Missy (my dog) has improved a lot. She is still nuts, but the housebreaking is totally under control. It just takes time and patience. Maybe you can give it a few more months - it might just get better. You'll see.

If you decide to keep him and need some puppy advice FM me. I hope everything works out.

Re: Anyone want a beagle puppy????

I never get involved in this stuff, but to me this is a very personal situation since i recently went through the SAME situation with my beagle puppy about 3 months ago. It killed me to do it, but it needed to be done. All Love_my_Freddybear is trying to do is try to find a new home for a wonderfully puppy who she loves but is not the right fit for her. She is not abandoning him....but what good is it doing for him if she were to keep him but not be happy...he wouldn't be the playful happy puppy he could be either. With any luck he will find a WONDERFUL home with a family that can love him just like Love_my_Freddybear hopes for him, as I did for my puppy. You girls are being horrible. So....this might not be what YOU would do, but respect that fact that she is trying to give him a good life...the best life she knows how to give him!!!!
