Did any of you ladies fall in love with a dress but did not get it because it was wayyyyyyyyy out of your budget? Or did you just get it and made sacrifices on other things for the wedding?
I actually fell in love with a dress but didn't get it because it was way too expensive for me. I luckily found something else less expensive and it looks almost like the more expensive one

Re: $$$$ ???
I was adamant about three things for my wedding and didn't budge at all: hair/makeup artist, photographer and food. All other things were negotiated and I didn't always get what I want but I didn't feel bad about it since I got my three most important things.
You have to pick and choose what's most important. I think it's ok that you found another dress, as long as you're happy with the decision!

Re: $$$$ ???
I LOVED a dress that was over $6k...the associate brought it to me even though I told her my budget was half of that at the very most! So I tried it on, loved it, heard the price and then took it off. I found another dress for 1/3 the price that I love just as much.

Re: $$$$ ???
I splurged on my dress. I tried really hard to find a dress that was more affordable , but nothing compared to my dress. So, even though it killed me financially, my dress was the one thing I did not budge in. Including the veils.

Re: $$$$ ???
I fell in love with a Melissa Sweet that was to-die-for but it was a little too much, but I ended up finding another Melissa Sweet that looked just as great for like $2K less.

Re: $$$$ ???
Fell in Love with a Demetrios gown that was well over my budget. Luckily I found my dress which I love more for under $600! that freed up money to splurge on the photographer I want.

Re: $$$$ ???
This is why I went to David's. . .I didn't want to spend more than $1500 on dress, veil, and tiara. When all is said and done after alterations, I'm assuming that I will have paid around $1300 for all of it.

Re: $$$$ ???
When I went dress shopping I omly asked the attendants to show me dresses in my budget. This way I wouldn't even have to think about spending more money because I have that tendency...

Re: $$$$ ???
I THOUGHT I fell in love with a Pronovias that was (with everything - gown, bolero, veil) about $6k. But it was one of the first I tried on, and once I started trying on other designers in other stores I realized I didn't like it as much as I thought.
What WAS important to me that the gown be in a nice fabric or lace... the one I ended up getting was over the original price point my mom and I had in mind but it wasn't OBSCENELY expensive.

Re: $$$$ ???
I saw a beautiful dress I was searching for, but when I found it the dress was $8000. I didn't even consider it for a second, $8000 on a dress you would wear once. But it was so fun to try it on.

Re: $$$$ ???
I went into the dress thinking I was going to spend A LOT on it, because that was one of the most important things to me. Fashionista is close to what I am But I actually ended up spending less than $3,800 with veil, shoes, alterations and everything, which for me was great!! As an added surprise, my godmother bought the dress for me which saved me like $2,600!!!

Re: $$$$ ???
I got my dream dress. At first, my heart sank because it was really expensive but then when we were going to pay for it, my Mom forked over the money and said my Grandma was paying for it.
