$$$$$$$

$$$$$$$

i edited this:

i really just wanted to start a discussion to allow myself and others to vent about the stress that comes with the $$ issues and planning a wedding. i see that i worded it in a way that made a few girls feel like i was complaining about something that wasn't as bad as their situation. everyone feels money problems, everyone is suffering in this economy and it's hard. so to everyone that i angered, i apologize and for everyone else that offered nice comments, thank you.

It is totally natural what you are feeling.
The pressure is unbelievable! \

Is there a reason why FH's parents can't pick up like the limos or something to lift some weight off your shoulders?

I know times are hard and everything to do with a wedding is sooo expensive.

Fights are normal when it comes to finacial things it's just a shame couples have to fight about it.

It is all stress related though. Everyhting will be ok when it comes time for a house baby ext. things always work out trust me!!

GOOD LUCK! AND DONT CRYY

Re: $$$$$$$

I understand your situation. My parents have helped us out a lot and have offered to help us out even more but we have refused. FH's parents were supposed to help us but till this day FMIL has not mentioned anything....I am not about to ask for something that doesn't come from the heart. I know it's a tough situation but you just have to keep focused and take a look at what is going on in your life and prioritize. Fiance and I had to do that yesterday....We don't want to push the wedding back but we are cutting back on a lot of the details for the wedding. It's kinda sad that most vendors of any type don't care to give a helping hand. They just want the $$$ in their pocket and don't give two cents about you. They tell you it's your special day, the day of a lifetime and then give me your money!...it's so sad. But there are very good and honest vendors who really want to make your day special and are willing to work with you. You just have to find them. I know it's easier said than done but try to let it not trouble you.
Hope this makes you smile...

Cheer up: birds have bills too, but they keep on singing.

Don't cry Money woes are the worst. Believe me, I feel you. We are paying for this wedding on our own so it has been tough, and there are constant bickerings about money. But everything will work out in the end I never used to believe in this but we have had some pretty rough times and it always works out So, don't worry! Happy times! Sure spending money sux, but you'll have a great day that you'll remember for the rest of your lives. Can't put a price on that!

Re: $$$$$$$

I would be happy that your parents are paying for 99%. Most of the brides on here do not have that! It is hard, and will get easier... especially since you wont have bills for the wedding (loans) after the wedding.

Good Luck!

This is very normal- you two are human beings and things like this are bound to happen with a wedding in the works- it will pass and it will all be worth it in the end.

of course i'm grateful for my parents. i wasn't complaining about that. they're paying for it because they wanted to help us. this wasn't like a spoiled brat rant...i was just venting about the stress of the money. i'll still have loans because of school and house downpayment, car...etc...i'm not above the whole 'money stress' thing. and besides, it's still stressful to ask you parents to help you pay for such an extravagance ...especially in this economy.

Re: $$$$$$$

thank you to everybody else for the kind words. i definitely appreciate what you all said. :o) i loved that expression...from mitziandandrew: birds have bills, but they keep singing :o) that's so sweet. anyway, things are better today. we figured out some changes we can make to help us save more. i wish i wasn't paying for school too ... i guess it's all worth it in the end. :o) thanks to everyone who said something nice :o)

Re: $$$$$$$

i definitely feel the pressure when it comes to money. we are saving as much as we can in the meantime and set our date in 2010 for that reason. we also cut things from our budget that we felt we could save on (ex- we got low cp's although i do love high cp's). we are hoping we will have enough money in the end for a down payment on a house but if not we will figure something else out in the meantime until we do.. you just have to be optimistic... you're marrying the love of your life and thats what matters most.

Re: $$$$$$$

that's a good idea abut cp's. i have to check and see if there's wiggle room in my contract. thanks

Sorry if you think I wasn't being nice.
It is a hard thing to do planning a wedding. There are many challenges and it does get stressful. But think about the outcome- It is worth it..

Once again

Good Luck!

awww... don't stress out so much, these things have a way of working themselves out. Where there is a will there's a way.

FH and I are paying for this ourselves, and we are by no means two people with alot of money. We are taking it one day at a time. I hope it works out for you and your FH.

Re: $$$$$$$

Totally normal to fight about money. Look at it as a practice test of your future. I read that is the reasons couples fight most!

My family can't help me. As a matter of fact, I think I have to lay out money for them to come!

But we have set ourselves on a budget (eggs and tuna lol) and keep putting money away for the payments. We have a year so slow payments make us not feel the burn as much.

What we did was write it all out and then decided where we could scrimp and where we wouldn't.
Think about no favors (who really needs them anyways), doing your own invites (it's easy nowadays!), maybe getting a used dress, etc...

Good luck to you and feel better!
