its all relative...some1 could spend 90k on a wedding...but they will also have 300 ppl at their wedding.. so u have to take into consideration how many people will be in attendance.
more ppl = more plates/favors/centerpieces/invitations..yadda yadaa
Exactly!! Were having at least 300 so my number is up there since my rh is costing so much

Re: $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
We're having a smaller wedding so the RH is only costing us about 16k. It was definitely more pp than I had originally intended on paying but I fell in love!!
I budgeted about 15k for the vendors (photog, video, dj, strings)
THANKFULLY my mom is doing my dress, flowers and limos... so that saves us some $$.
Then I'm thinking(hoping) just another $3k for small stuff... invites, favors, placecard holders, BP gifts. I am able to save $$ here since we're only having 100-125ppl
Our wedding bands were actually super reasonable!!! FH was pleasantly surprised!!! (I think he is still in shock over the cost of e-rings)
So I'm thinking when all is said and done... between $30-35 not including the honeymoon.
We're going to Fiji for our HM so when I think about how much that costs I want to puke...
Everytime we write a check out I just keep telling myself these are all one time expenses...

Re: $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
I've heard rule of thumb is whatever you budget for the RH, double it....so if your RH costs $20k, everything else will be $20k for a total of $40k.

I am only having about 75 ppl and I think with HM and rings we might make it under 15K.
I'm just about there with you...maybe alittle less. 80 people max

Re: $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
We aren't counting honeymoon in our final cost b/c we aren't going until well after the wedding, so we'll be using some of the money we get from the wedding toward that. So we're probably going to wind up coming in right around the $40,000 mark.

I don't think more than 20k - but that doesn't include the honeymoon...

A topic we really try not to dwell on... its sickening. AND exiciting, but makes me ill a bit. I just hope we keep our new saving habits for years to come. That's promising.

No matter the amount that each of us are spending- can you believe that all of this hard earned $$$$ is being spent on a party!!!!!! now you see it- now you don't.
In the end, it's worth it
ITA
but hey at least we all might break even!!! we all are forgetting the envelopes and presents!!!
i dont think too many people break even. Unless your parents or someone else is paying for your wedding.
my rule is, for every person think they will give you $100. Some with give more, some will give less. And that in no way adds up to breaking even. Atleast for me anyway.

I calculate this same exact way when trying to figure out what we might get and i take away like 10 ppl from the total number of guests to account for children, etc.

hmm... I know that in my family we usually put $200 pp that comes to any family event. I dont think I will be able to cover the entire expense of the wedding, but the hall usually gets covered, from past experiences.

Re: $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
If just the cost of my hall gets covered i would be happy, MY FH thinks we will be in the 40k range and i dont wanna spend that much it makes me sick. A wedding is the happiet day of our lives (intill we have children) they really should give us some break lol
