So I go back to go try on the dress that I fell in love with on Saturday. I try it on for my best friend and she loved loved it. Than I decided just to try on some more gowns to keep my options open an see if i got the same feeling as i did with the 1st one. So we found another one. She likes the second one so much better on me and it is beautiful. They are completely different dresses. One is pickups the other is a very simple A line. I've always pictured having that big gown but then again the other one is pretty as well. I feel more comfortable in the original, but she likes the way it looks on me better because it shows my figure off more. But i feel a little uncomfortable in it because I feel like you can see every imperfection in the dress that she likes. So do I go with that amazing feeling that I had when I tried the 1st one or do I listen to her???? ugh I'm just venting. The 1st gown is by demetrios ($1550) the 2nd is actually a macys dress ($950). You can't find the macy's one online but the demetrios is style # 926. ugghhhhh just venting....check out the demetrios and let me know what you guys think :) I would upload it on here, but I'm on the FH's computer.

I don't want to discourage you at all because this is a wonderful time and you have so much to be excited about, but I do want to suggest that since you do have a LOT of time, perhaps taking a month or two to kinda think about it and consider your options, then head out again and try on a few dresses and see what speaks to you.
When you find 'THE' dress, it'll just be something you feel and know, through-and-through. Yes, there will be some second-guessing about it, but you won't feel anxiety -- just enthusiasm!
I want you to feel like a princess at your wedding and love the fabric that surrounds you. Take your time and it will all fall into place.

Go with your gut and pick the dress that you liked better. I know its hard not to get swayed by your friend's opinion but you have to be comfortable in it.

Thanks! I didn't even want to start looking until after the New Year, but long behold this dress jumped out at me that somebody showed me and I had to go try it on! LOL. I agree with you that I have so much time..I feel like this is going to be the worse stress of the whole wedding 'THE DRESS'

I got engaged last month & I'm not getting married until 2012.. I went to David's Bridal and found 'THE DRESS' and came home to tell my mom.. She told me to wait because it may go out of style & I may loose more weight, or change my mind. And after thinking about it, I agreed.. It is too soon! But the choice is totally up to you because your wedding is sooner than mine. Good luck!

I say go with your gut. I did and I am really happy with my choice but I can say that the nervous feeling of 'did I pick the right one' doesn't go away (for me anyway). Especially when you are like me and watch 'say yes to the dress' all the time. That show kills me I'm always like 'Ohhhh, that is pretty', or 'I want that', 'that girls whole family and the designers are crying!' haha. Once you pick the dress try not to look at any others! It will only confuse you!!!!
I'm going to the bridal shop this weekend bc one of my OOT BM is coming to get measured. Now I am nervous because of her seeing it!!!! But, every time I go and see it in person I fall in love with it again...and you will with yours too!
Get the one YOU want and feel comfortable in.

I totally agree if you absolutely think one is the one go for it....but you have plenty of time and your style or ideas could totally change and you don't want to lock yourself into a dress that in a year or so you could be unhappy with because its no longer what you want. Good luck!!!

I actually loved the Demetrios 926. It was the one I came out of the dressing room beaming. I didnt pick it though. My mother didnt like it and after she explained it I understood why. I picked one that was almost the same dress but the beading at the waist went into a V so it made the hip area look more slimming and it also was a tank not a strapless.
You have lots of time. If you are remotely unsure then keep looking. And my advice.....if you do pick this dress stop looking for the rest of your planning process. If you continue to look at dresses you will find something that you like....

I know what it feels like when you are completely torn! This whole time I have been saying that I want a simple small dress because I dont want to go to the bathroom with my entire bridal party lol However when I went dress shopping this weekend I spotted a girl trying on this enormous princess dress and found myself glaring at it. I tried it on and fell in love! At first I was fighting with myself because the one I had originally tried on, a beautiful simple pronovias, strapless lace a-line, was the one I was hunting this entire time. I ended up taking the total opposite, big fluffy, crystals and straps lol Whatever you decide think about what makes you happy and what you want to look like on your day! You will make a beautiful bride either way, now you just have to make a choice of what you want to look beautiful in.

if i had listened to my friends insted of my gut i would have been talked into a dress i couldnt afford that was WAY to much for the wedding we are having...

you have a ton of time, so dont worry too much. I am in the same boat as you, i LOVE two dresses, and my moms words of advice to me, were if you love them both the same, then neither one is the it dress.
