but can't make up my mind and I have til Friday =(
and my friends were telling me to 'relax' i just got engaged and 2011 is already booked!!!

me too ... actually I have been to a few weddings at JT. The food is okay, IMO but its not bad, just not great.. although my family is off the boat Italian so that is totally JMO!!! The grounds are really nice though so you will get great pics.. I have never been to the Inn, so I cant compare
but you do have some time.. why dont you look at some other places and do a price comparisson.. they will probably give you 2010 prices now, not 09 prices but it will still be better than 2011 prices!

I've been to a wedding at JT and it was really nice, so either way I don't think you can go wrong. I have no idea about the pricing there.
I am partial to the Inn since we are booked there. We looked at close to 20 halls and the Inn blew us away in every aspect. It had everything we were looking for (and, after 20 halls, never thought we would find all in one place). From the cocktail hour room, to the bridal suite, bathrooms, granite bars, personal salt and pepper shakers, and silverware (not silver plated!!), it has everything! I am very detail oriented, so I can't help notice when an RH has thought of every last detail, which they seem to have done! And when I booked back in November, they already had bookings into 2011. I think it will become more popular. GL with your decision - its a tough one. But fun too, enjoy the RH hunting!

I am booked with The INN and I just loooove it!!! Everytime Im there I fall more inlove.. it really is a special place and it is soo personalized to you.. Im pretty sure the pricing though is a big difference rom JT so take that into consideration when choosing.. I have been to a wedding at jericho terrace and it was very nice.. and the food was good....
The great thing about the Inn is its only 1 wedding at a time.. and that new cocktail hour room is absolutely breathtaking!!! The place is newly renovated so know musty smell or old decor.. it truley is amazing and I couldnt be happier to have my wedding there. :) BTW. went to showcase last night and the food was sooooooo yummy!!)

I was at the showcase too last night but I got there late, i found out last minute so I didnt get to taste anything. The place was really pretty and Frank was just soooo nice to us.. I was never there b4.. i wish I saw a wedding set up to get the real feel..Unfortunately they dont have our date available. we chose a specific date for specific reasons and Jericho has it available. I didnt think that it would be so hard considering its 2 yrs away. We did shop around and went to our places of interest and these were the 2 halls that we loved. FH knows the people at JT and NHP so either way we know they would take really good care of us and they were both soo accomodating with everything. Thanks for the info ladies it really helped =)

Ive gotten mixed opinions about so many halls good and bad..Everyone has their likes and dislikes and it all depends what you order too, im not getting into detail i dont want to offend anyone. As long as the bride and groom are happy and enjoy their day and everything goes as planned is all that matters =)

My engagement party AND shower was at the Inn at NHP..
Our friends and family always rave about both parties.
They do such an amazing job-we would have loved to have our wedding there!

Okay being that you keep stressing about wanting that specific date, I think you should pick JT. Granted I am booked there lol but I know how it feels to want a certain date. I had been obsesseddd with October 2, 2010 and we went looking at halls over 2 years in advance. Every hall had our date except JT. In the end we compromised and booked the same weekend at least bc we LOVED the new room. However, I had some issues with not having that dream date for awhile, I'm pretty much over it now lol but it was annoying to stress over it even after we booked. I'm not sure what your reasons were for the date, but we didn't have any other than I wanted the first weekend in October and I loved the number 2. If your reasons are more serious than that lol then I'd go with the place that has your date. Again, regardless of the fact that I am booked with JT, I would've given you the same answer anyway, to follow the date you want! However, I realize the place defines your wedding for that day obvi, however the date is your anniversary for the rest of your lives, JMO, good luck!!

thanks.. one reason is I wanted nothing but SAT, a lot of my close family members own businesses and Sunday is better for them and I want to be accomodating but I really want it to end late and party all night .. July 2nd was my date ..I wanted first weekend in July since I teach and the 2nd was the day we got engaged etc etc. then we figured 4th of july falls on a Monday in 2011 so July 3rd is kinda like a sat lol and I dunno it makes sense in my head it all seemed perfect. NHP really had no dates left that worked with us =( and I do not want to get married durning the week its not for me

I think that makes a lot of sense why you would want that date!

I got married at the Inn a few weeks ago. We had a big wedding and people raved about The Inn at New Hyde Park like you would not believe. My dad is in the rsetaurant business and so were many of our guests and they had great things to say.
The place is beautiful and the food and service were great. I loved being the only wedding and the cocktail room was a huge hit.
I have been to a lot of JT weddings so, although it was cheaper, I decided to go with the Inn for something different. However, I think JT also has very good food - just a very different look.

id have to say jericho i went to both and went w jer because they offer way more for the price and they are much more attentive. it is more hall like obviously but to me the only selling point at nhp was the out doors..... what if it rains??? i wasnt into the stuffy inside. also they charge for things that jer doesnt. ..... ps sunday wed is a choice not to serve alc. :)

im partial to the Inn but i have gone to weddings at JT and had amazing times!! One of the best weddings that I went to was at JT ---both halls are great choices good luck!
