Torn between two venues

Torn between two venues

Hi ladies. Fh and I are torn btw two venues. Both places are beautiful in different ways and are known for their food and service. One venue is within our budget for March (the month we are originally chose) and the other for February (this venue seems to trying hard to book us). I have made a list of pros and cons; both places have many pros and a few cons.

Did you have a difficult time choosing a venue? What did you do? To any past February brides, what was your experience like? Were you nervous about the possibility of a snowstorm?

Thank you for any advice you give me.

what two venues will the choice be between? I only went to two places, Leonards and Jericho Terrace. Good experience at Leonards but FANTASTIC experience at Jericho Terrace. The place is amazing by itself but the service and accomodation was key to me...

I only went to three places but knew which one I wanted by the 3rd one. Make a list of pros and cons and see which one you think would suit you and your FH better. Just remember....don't settle. Go with the one you REALLY want!!!

Good Luck

Thank you ladies! I'm torn btw Floral Terrace for March and Sand Castle for February.

I'd go for the March venue strictly because of weather. I've heard too many horror stories about snowstorms and I would not want to risk the most important day of my life.

You might also want to consider that the days start to get longer in March, so you have more time for photos. I went as far as checking times for sunset. Pictures were a huge priority.

Also, it gets warmer in March and less prone to snowstorms.

Just my two cents, sorry if I'm confusing you more!!

I've never been to Floral Terrace, but I went to a good friend's wedding in July at Sand Castle and it was AMAZING. The place is absolutely beautiful, and we had such a great time. I am a little bias but I can definitely say that Sand Castle was amazing and had the 'WOW' factor in the main room and cocktail room!

we only saw 3 places, fell in love w/ CHCC right away, it was the first one we went to, so the next day we went to the only place that we thought would compair and after looking at that one and the talking about them during the car ride CHCC won and we booked asap

if your worried about the winter weather look into wedding insurance, after the winter we had AND what happened this summer it sounding more and more worth it.

they're actually owned by the same person (floral terrace and sand castle), so you're likely going to see similarities in food and service. I'm getting married at sand castle but I've seen floral terrace too.. feel free to FM me about the eagerness to book thing because I may have some insight on that or you can FM any other questions you have

Re: Torn between two venues

both are hands down my favorite RH's!

I chose floral terrace because my 'theme' is romance.... and i love the unique shape of the Ballroom!!!!! It really depends on the feel youre going for... both have an ABUNDANT amount of food to offer and the food is delish!!! It really comes down to decor!

Yay! I'm getting married at Sand Castle!! We actually walked in there and knew that minute we needed to have our wedding there...we never got to Floral Terrace, which I hear is amazing as well. At least you know whatever you choose, the food will be amazing since it's the same owner.

Just take a few days to think about it or go back and take another tour. I'm sure you will make the right decision for you! Good Luck!!!!

They both have the same owner. I am a Sand Castle bride so I may be biased but I think the RH is breathtaking. I have been to weddings at both places and the food there is great. I say SC all the way but if your set on March then go with FT

Re: Torn between two venues

After a COMPLETELY HORRIBLE experience with our Old Reception Hall - we went all over LI and visited and revisited places that we went to back in 2010 when we were looking and the one place that we felt EXTREMELY comfortable and sure about was Floral Terrace (Wish we went here back in 2010!!!!!). We met with Frank who has been more than accomodating and we actually have a tasting this weekend!!! Hopefully all goes well and we can formally sign contracts!!! Hands down would recommend FT - Haven't been to SC but I'm sure it is great as well :) Good luck in your decision!

Both Floral Terrace and Sandle Castle are owned by the same company so that might help you choose better. The food is really the same, but I think they both have different looks so that can depend on what you want out of your own look.

I have been to the Sandcastle, the food was very good.

Are you looking for the end of February or the beginning? The past 2 years we had a major blizzards in January and in the beginning weeks of February.

We chose March, the last day to be exact.

Have you considered looking at other venues in March? What ones have you looked at?

Re: Torn between two venues

My birthday is at the end of March and because of it I remember the weather. We booked March. It's been 76 in March or it's been colder. We were a bit more worried about Feb... I'd rather have higher chances getting a 60 degree day then praying for 'no snow' on my day...

Good Luck!

You may want to keep looking. After looking at a bunch of venues, we walked into the one we booked and there was no contest. You have time on your side.

As for weather, no one can tell. My sister was born in a blizzard on St. Patrick's Day! Go with your heart.
