So I have done the Keratin treatment in the past before...and now with all the stuff about they ALL have some type of Formaldehyde, it is making me paranoid!!
I want to get it done this week...so I can add extensions and start doing hair trials....but I am torn on whether to go through with it or not. My hair needs some type of component whether that or a relaxer...which I tried to stop doing since it was unhealthy for my hair.
Ahhhhhh Decisons decisions!!!!

Yea I know it works...but I'm torn on the whole formaldehyde issue.
I dunno... how bad could once a year be?? All the things we breath in.... There are hairstylists who use it everyday multiple times on clients...
I can justify once a year for the results!!
That's what I keep telling myself...lol
Go for it!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Torn on Keratin treatment
I have been doing Japanese for 10 years already and my hair is in great shape!
Maybe you should consider a different process since they are going to be banning it.

Well some of you have said that all keratin has formaldehyde and that they are all going to be pulled from the market soon, so I assumed that something had come out about this...
I use the non-formaldehyde keratin and love it.

Re: Torn on Keratin treatment
Oh yea I don't know about them being pulled from the shelves. But as far as the formaldehyde....there is a number..that if it is under that percentage than legall they can call it formaldehyde free. The component that really makes it straight is the heat reacting with the formaldehyde....I will find an article for you. There are a whole bunch....some places call it free and other OSHA reports say otherwise.

Re: Torn on Keratin treatment
I had Keratin last June and for our E-Party in August my hair curled, but they were really tight to my head..wasn't really a fan of that..waiting til I get back from the HM if I do it again..just make sure you like the way your hair curls with it if you're going to get it before the wedding

Re: Torn on Keratin treatment
Well the only way to find out is to do it and see...lol. I have had my hair curled before and it stayed fine....but not curled how i would want it for my wedding day hair.
Decisions decisions....
My FH does not want me to do it....so i feel bad going ahead with it anyway. But he has manageable hair...he just doesn't understand!!
