So I've had one hell of an evening! 10 minutes to 6PM, right before i got out of work, out of nowhere a tornado strikes!! ***??!!! In queens??!!! Not a tree left standing, car's destroyed, fruit vendors and concession stands destroyed!! The scariest experience I have ever faced in my LIFE! :

Where in Queens is this? I saw on the news Rego Park. I grew up in Queens. It's crazy! I saw Queens Blvd was hell, all backed up, fire trucks couldn't get to their calls. What a mess.

Scary!!! I was walking through the city and all of a sudden I start getting hit by hail. The tri-state was hit pretty hard. Those are some great pics by the way I hope everyone is okay.

yup that's right in my area... I actually almost got hit by a falling tree. It fell literally where I was standing like 1 minute before. When I saw that go down my heart jumped. It's really bad over here

Wow..that is crazy by me there was just some heavy rain and wind.
This weather is crazy. My daughter's friend from school said his mom's car was hit by a tree while she was in it. Thankfully she was okay

Re: TORNADO IN QUEENS!!
That is what my block looks like!!! Unbelievable and really scary.
It took me 4 1/2 hours to get home last night from Manhattan!! There was no 7 train, no LIRR trains and Northern Blvd was jam packed so buses weren't running/they were filled to capacity. I walked from 82nd Street & Northern Blvd to 164th Street & Northern!! Needless to say I'm exhausted and want this work day to be over

It was crazy last night!! I usually take the express bus which goes down queens blvd. Something told me to take the subway! So glad i did!
I heard on the news this morning that there was a young 30 year old who died when her car was struck by a tree on the GCP. Terrible :(

Re: TORNADO IN QUEENS!!
Fortunately I just seemed to miss it. I left work at 5. I was driving just south of the worst of it and I could tell by the fast moving dark clouds that somewhere was getting it really bad! We got some wicked rain but not much else. I feel terrible for all the vendors who lost everything. I have a friend who's dad is a street vendor and I know how hard they work! I am glad you are OK and sorry about your car!
