Tossing the bo-k

Original post by MrsList09

So the topic of 'engaged' not being a marital status made me think of the last wedding I attended. I consider myself still 'single' becuase I'm not married. So when they called all the single ladies to the dance floor to catch the bo-k, I went up there. FH was in the bathroom and when he saw me out there, he got a little bent out of shape about it. He's like 'You're not single!' I had forgotten about the part with the garter and just wanted the bo-k for luck.

Are the engaged ladies not supposed to go? I thought it was luck for the next couple married?!

I haven't gone up for a bo-k toss in years and years and years. I'm just not a fan of it and we won't be doing it at our wedding.

That said, while technically you aren't married yet, if I was at a wedding with FH, I wouldn't get up there.

Well, technically the tradition says that the girl who catches the bo-k is the next to get married. So I don't see what's wrong with catching (or trying to catch) the bo-k if you're engaged, but not yet married!
