totally bummed.

i feel like i am consumed with wedding ideas and engagement party ideas.. i was speaking to my friend of about 5 years and she sort of insulted me saying in a sarcastic way all i do is talk about getting married... and not for nothing i always listened to her when her and her bf were looking at rings, taking engagement photos, going to tastings... she has not gotten engaged yet and all of her planning was going on over the summer (yikes) but i was always happy for her... and now she says that to me and it really rubbed me the wrong way. i dunno just a bad vibe. i feel bad for her since she didnt get her ring.. but like shouldnt a good friend be nothing but happy for one another.

hmmm, maybe if she says it again and it still bothers you, you should sit down with her and talk to her about it and how you were there for her the whole time and that it hurts your feelings that she says that stuff. Also, I think I can see how some people would feel about us ladies talking about wedding non-stop. Sometimes I think to myself when I talk to my sisters, friends or FH, WOW this is ALL i talk about. But we should be allowed to! It's not like we get married all the time plus as friends and family, they should all be there for us and support us no matter how much we talk about it

sorry to hear bout your situation but I hope that it was just a one time thing w/ her

It sounds like a few things may be going on right now:

1. You may be a little bit wedding obsessed lately.
2. Your friend is a little jealous that you're engaged before she is.

It's really easy to remedy this situation.

Take a little break from wedding planning for the next week. Try not to talk to anyone about any of your wedding stuff for the next week. Call your friend up and apologize for getting so into the details about your wedding and ask how her life is going.

It doesn't matter if you were there for her previously about her preliminary wedding plans. She probably just needs a bit of a break hearing about your wedding plans for a bit. Be sensitive to her feelings, as I'm sure this is a little tough for her.

Give her some time, and I'm sure she'll be enthusiastic about helping you plan again.
