I'm sorry you received those phone calls. Vendors are really playing with fire by calling you. They just make their situation worse. Please don't leave us. I personally value others opinions whether good or bad.

IMO the vendors. It is completely unprofessional of them to go back to the client based on a tattletale. If they were genuinely concerned that the client was dissatisfied and wanted to make right, then that would be a different story (good business etiquette).

Not only should you not give up on this site, possibly because of a few bad eggs, but you should do something about the inappropriate behavior of these vendors. I can be a real b*tch when people try to mess with me and I know that I would be on the phone with the Better Business Bureau. The vendors may not have initially been bad enough to report, but their behavior calls for it. As far as a bride 'ratting' you out goes, it was probably a combination of the bride mentioning they had read something negative, no names mentioned, and then the vendor going on to the site to do some research of their own. If you are to get any more of these calls, and I hope you don't, I would tell the vendors that their behavior is completely unprofessional and you have full intentions of going to the BBB to report their harrassment.

I am so sorry to hear that that has happened to you, but I do understand how you feel. When I first started going on here I said somet6hing and got a phone call from a vendor complaining about something I said. I think you should be able to say what you want, but some people on here seem to get very upset. Overall, though, I have to say that the girls on here are extremely helpful. I have gotten so much useful information and help that I have found this site invaluable.

Hey, I'm a groom and I got harassed...I guess that's ok!
Well, the call could have been coincidence, but I seriously doubt it. My brother happened to pick up the phone, so since I have no interest in the place, I told him to say I moved away.
I'll speak my mind to people, I'm not shy in that regards. So I'll keep giving my opinions, no matter who calls me. Unless it's the mob, then I have no opinion.

These vendors that harass brides (and grooms!) after posting their opinions should be outed! If a vendor bothers you, post their name and what they said... that will keep them from calling others in the future.
I find it really quite disgusting. I learned a long time ago that a lot of the vendors that people rave about on here are really not that great... too bad I learned it the hard way... by trudging my butt from queens all the way out to Nassau and Suffolk, just to be very disappointed. Dont get me wrong, I have used a couple of vendors on here, but I would have used them regardless. They came recommended from people outside LIW, or by people who I trust on LIW.
Like someone said earlier, if a vendor calls you or FM's you, either ignore them, report them and/or tell them to go F themselves. LIW has a wonderful bunch of women, and Ron and Liz are great as well, and so are most of the vendors - dont let those few annoying vendors ruin it.

did you tell li weddings that this happened? i had a problem 2 years ago when i first started on this board witha b2b because of a post i wrote about a vendor who was good, the b2b thought i was a vendor cause of how highly i spoke of her! well needless to say i stopped on this board for almost 2years and now that i fiqured that bride 2 be might not be on here anymore i decided to come back. i guess what i am saying is that is very well could have been a b2b but at the same time that was going on the vendor i was talking about did call li wedding cause she read what happened and the post was removed! i learned my lesson is say what you might but watch what you say! there are b2b that will rat you out! and a vendor is reading what you say!! don't be foolish like i was a leave !! this board seice i have been back has been a great help and a place i can come to to calm down when needed!!!! good luck on what you do!

I would definately report the vendors to LIW. I dont think they have a right to contact you regarding your opinion and if anyone called me I would just explain that to them.

it is highly unprofessional of a vendor to contact you based on a negative comment. I read your comment - and it wasn't even negative! you did the right thing and said that you had a negative experience, and to FM you. Had you posted the ugly details, then I could see how they might have a reason to be bothered by it. But everyone is entitled to their opinion and if you had a bad experience, you should be able to share it! I'd contact LIW and have them speak to the vendor in question - if they haven't already. But dont' leave the boards because of this!

I agree with Stephanie (and with everyone else said about the unprofessionalisim of the vendors who would dare to call you and complain just b/c you had negative feedback about them!)
I Love Honesty, and when everyone sits on a board and says 'I LOVE EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE' it doesn't really do any of us any good ... constructive and honest criticism is what I value most, and I have learned a lot from people like YOU who have voiced an honesty opinion.
That said, I can understand why you'd be discouraged .. but I hope you stay, too!!

I bet its the vendor just saying that it was a bride...they are to chicken to take the blame themselves. I would LOVE it if a vendor called me after a negative post. I am allowed to have my opinions and I would tell the vendor that.

I also was FMed by a vendor after posting something on 'brides helping brides'. I felt like big brother is watching, it was very uncomfortable. This vendor in an FM, documented every phone call I ever made to them, over a few monthss, and what was discussed. It was wierd.

I can't believe vendors called you after you posted your HONEST opinion about them. I am also amazed that a B2B may have ratted you out.
I, for one, really value honest opinions -- whether positive or negative. Please FM me the name of the vendors. I do not think I would want to do business with a vendor that will eventually harass me if I find a need to post a negative opinion about that company.
