Totally NWR: Costco Question

Totally NWR: Costco Question

I know this is totally out there, but I just thought I'd ask...does anyone know if you go with someone to CostCo and you don't have the membership, your friend does but the shopping is for you...does your friend have to be the one to pay or can you pay using your own debit or credit card? I'm trying to avoid a trip to the ATM but I don't know if I'm going to have to give her the cash to pay. Anyone know? TIA!

I'm pretty sure you can pay with your card. Maybe give them a quick call?

ETA: I think that I asked this question at Sam's, not Costco. So defintiely don't go by me. I'm sorry!

yes...the id card and the person paying card must (should) match. They are always checking to see if the names match on the card

this is to prevent people that don't have a card to shop with a friend and also for there on secruity so there is miminal credit card theft.....

you can use your debit card and amex card, but they dont take visa or mc. and the person who's membership card you are using needs to be with you in case the cashier checks the back picture.

they have to pay - my mom has a membership and she pays and then I pay her back.

my FH uses his debt card there and my names the only one on account.. if its debt u have to enter a pin so they dont check the card, if its credit card u have a better shot, but u can just say your friend forgot here credit card...

you absolutely can pay with your own debit card....
as long as that person is with you and hands over their costco card...

No-We use my FMIL card all the time and we use our own ATM or credit cards.

Re: Totally NWR: Costco Question

I think it all depends on the person who is ringing you up because one time I had a problem and another time they let me do it. I don't think they are supposed to let you pay with your cc if it is someone else's membership, but some cashiers let you.
