totally stressing..my back is just killing me

totally stressing..my back is just killing me

just wanted to vent.. i woke up saturday morning basically unable to move.. i guess my lower back that syatic nerve (sp?) is just all bunched up, and it hurts like heck.. my legs keep giving out i guess from the nerve.. all i can think is that it is stress...the wedding is one month away..if i keep going at this pace, i will be in a wheelchair soon.. nothing i do seems to help.. anyone have any good home remedies..
my fh and i keep arguing with each other.. over stupid stuff.. which does not help, and i just don't know what to do!!

HELP!!!

I suffer from sciatica too...When it goes out, I end up waling all hunched over for 16 weeks until the disk moves off the nerve. Please remember I'm not a doctor but I can tell you what helps me. I usually take some anti-inflammatory pills, like aspirin or advil to calm the nerve and reduce the inflammation. Then I try a little stretch by standing as straight as I can and gently leaning back. Try that a few times. Or you can try laying on the floor with your legs propped under a couple of pillows.

I'm sorry to hear about your back. My FH's back gets really bad sometimes and I think what he does is he takes an aspirin that has an anti-inflammatory ingredient in it (I forget what it is called). But I think your best bet would probably be to go to your doctor. He would be able to tell you better what to do and he could probably prescribe something that is a bit stronger (but make sure you ask for something that won't make you drowsy in case you need to take it on your wedding day). Also, you may want to try a heating pad or even a chiropractor.

I had this last year - it was horrible, so I know how you feel. My FH is a PA in orthopedics, and even he suggested I see an orthopedic surgeon. He wound up putting me on an anti-inflammatory after taking x-rays. I felt better in days!!! I highly recommend going, because if your wedding is only one month away, you want to take care of it NOW just in case it gets any worse. Good luck with it!!!

DH's aunt does reflexology among other things, and a friend, who was pregnant at the time, scyatic nerve went and she laid on the floor and DH's aunt pulled at her legs...of course she is trained and knows what she is doing....

but with a month to go ...i dont think you want to take any chances...get to a doctor...
