Fh mother passed away a few years ago. I know he would've loved for his mom to be apart of out day. Im thinking that I should arrange for a slide show tribute for his mom. Is that something that I should tell him about beforehand or would it be ok to surprise him?

Re: Tough one
IMO, might be a little to rough for him to do something like that. It is very thoughtful, but might bring him down. What about having a memory candle and a picture of her?

while it's a very sweet way to remember her---it's not something you should just surprise him with. i think you should talk with him about it beforehand, to see if he would even want that.
a slideshow tribute can kind of bring the mood to something quite somber....you might want to consider something else. perhaps putting pictures of her on your sweetheart table? putting out a memory candle? mention her during the ceremony? the slideshow might be much for his family & friends, and put a damper on the day.

I think you should probably let him know beforehand. You never know what kind of reaction people are going to have to that kind of thing.

Thanks Ladies. I would hate for him to be sad but I love the idea of the picture and the memory candle for his mom. I'll talk to him about it tonight.

Re: Tough one
I would be careful with that one, while he and the other guests might think it is touching, it might bring them down at the wedding, and you don't want a bunch of sad people at your wedding...I think it is better to do a picture and a candle...

Re: Tough one
We are doing a memorial c andle for her and mentioning her among those that have passed in our program. We are also dedicating the part of the mass where we leave the flowers to the Blessed Mother's altar to her (will be mentioned as such in program).

Re: Tough one
speaking from my experience (my father passed away) I want to have something to remember him at my wedding, but I don't think I'll do any kind of montage...even if I can handle it, my sis is usually very emotional and I wouldn't want her to be crying & upset at my wedding.
I would talk to your FH about it and see how he feels, I wouldn't surprise him.
