I'm going there tommorow to get a copy of my birth certificate. Will they give it to me that day or will they mail it?
We are going there thursday for the marriage lic but I can't find my birth certificate so I have to go to Islip Town Hall to get it :(
They should give it to you right there!
ditto to what the other girls said...but...my friend works for that department in islip town hall. she said that you need to tell them to give you your birth certificate for proof so you can get your marriage license. apparently there are 2 versions of a birth certificate. a short version and a long version. the short version just has your name, date of birth and place of birth. to get your marriage license you need the LONG version, the kind with your parents names and everything. so make sure you get the right one.
