Shame is.. although not my taste.. the room was alright.. MINUS the feathers..
She could have even left the feathers up at the chandlier part.. but the WALLS????
Ugh..
I saw the preview for her putting card board on the next 'victim'.
Producers just want her to get a reaction so more people watch the show.

I thought the same thing - that it turned out nice. I also thought a nice textured wall paper would have worked much much better.
How on earth do you get glued feathers off your wall??

Although the room reeally did look nice, I would have killed her for hot glueing feathers on my walls. I told FH if we ever were to go on this show, Hildi is not allowed withing 1000 feet of our house.

That's the thing - you have no choice and you sign a waiver! Plus I am sure if you said anyone but hildi you can bet that's exactly who you get

I saw this...the couple looked like they wanted to kill Hildi...and they were trying to figure out how the heck to get all these feathers off the walls!
Did you hear Paige asking Hildi about it? Hildi said her house was entirely white. So she does these outrageous things in other people's houses.

The room wouldnt have been so bad without the feathers. How could you possibly get those off!? I also hate when they use metallic paint on the furniture. I think it looks so tacky. I can't believe the other couple loved their room! I would have cried!!

I think Hilde has the worst decorating taste!
Laurie and Doug come in 2nd!
I love Vern and Frank's decorating ideas, though.

Re: Trading spaces at midnight-Feathers?
The feathers did not look as bad as I thought, but I do not think I would want them on my walls.
Where has Vern been lately- he is my favorite.
I think to garner ratings they are telling the designers to be as outrageous as possible.

I am sure you are right!!
While I love Vern and his style, he is pretty consistent and that doesn't make for good reveals.

Re: Trading spaces at midnight-Feathers?
I think if you heat the walls (i.e. a hair dryer) long enough and well enough the hot glue (god help us) should loosen enough to remove it.
Unfortunately I'd assume you'd have to sand it down slightly to get an even edge again, if possible. Otherwise we are talking about a major wall job.
Poor people.
As a cat owner, that place is gonna just fall apart I know it. Besides.. it wasn't a complete cover, I saw lots of spots of white from the wall, one side is completely covered other areas aren't as covered.

Although the overview of the room didn't look to bad I would have died if I had feathers on my wall. Wouldn't that be a fire hazard?
I think the only way to get all those off is to replace the wall. Those poor homeowners.
And I really don't like that new designer that was on. He seems a little wierd to me and not to talented.

Re: Trading spaces at midnight-Feathers?
I think Hildi, Kia and Laurie are the worst Decorators. I like Doug, Vern and some of Genevieve's decorating. I like when she does Kitchens. Doug also has done some creative Kitchens.
Hildi and Kia probably scare me the most of all the decorators. I will always remember thay really scary guest bedroom that Kia did with the astro turf duvet cover, garden fence, and rocker with dirt under it.
As for hildi, I remember the first really bad room she decorated, and that was the bathroom with all the flowers on the roof, and walls...That was nasty.
The other night with the feathers was disgusting. I think she should of just painted the walls a pretty color....Why on earth would she think that feathers are romantic?
I would of strangeled her on the show, if she did that to my room.
I saw the previews for next saturday's episode with the cardboard on the walls, what is she thinking?
Also I like her comment to Paige....Hildi said she had a house with all white walls and she had no place to re inact her ideas....I would love to go into her house and glue feathers on her walls...I wonder how she would like it?

I saw Vern in the audience on an Oprah show, where they were redoing the ugliest room contest. I only saw the first 10 minutes, but he was definitly in the audience. I love Vern, and he is the only one I would let in my house.
