On the train this AM, I was sitting in a 3 seater (NJ Transit). A man was sitting by the window and I was at the end. A RUDE woman asks me to get up, which I politely did so she could squeeze into the middle, no thank you or anything . Then she takes out nailpolish and starts painting her nails - and it stunk! I mean, I don't mind that when I am in my house with a window open - but on a crowded train at 8am! The man and I both gave her dirty looks but I kept my mouth shut, i wasn't in the mood

OMG! And if the train had lurched for any reason you would have been wearing that nail polish! That's just a gross thing to do on a train.

Re: Train etiquette- nailpolish?
oh come on!!!! Some people are so ridiculously inconsiderate! I can't believe she did that, SO not something that should be done on a packed commuter train with NO VENTILATION!! Did anyone say anything to her about it? I would have been so pissed off. I've been on teh NJ Transit trains, how the heck was she able to keep her hands steady enough to paint her nails, and how was she holding the bottle? Ick, I hate rude commuters

That would annoy the h e l l outta me. I can't stand when they spray perfume.
On my flight home from Italy (9 hours long), the last hour of the flight..some woman sprays this heavy/gross smelling perfume..I thought I was going to pass out...it was terrible!!
I've experienced this on the train too!!

Oh, good one! If I was PG and this happened to me, I would just turn to her and politely ask her to stop doing that bc the fumes were adding to my alraedy horrible morning sickness and it would be a shame to throw up on her lap

Re: Train etiquette- nailpolish?
That';s so gross. people have no consdieration. I would hae just started coughing really ludly and if she didnt get the hint I'd tell her I have asthma and the fumes are bothering me. The morning sickness one should really work. if she dones't stop, you will puke on her..that would tech her a lesson

That I could handle - maybe.
My favorite are the people who decide that the train is a good place to cut their fingernails.

I have seen, or smelled, that several times before. Usually on a less crowded, off peak train. It is gross & rude.
