The BM dress my girls are getting has a train. Should they have it bustled or should they just have it cut off?

Re: Train on Bridesmaid Dresses
For my friends wedding, we had a tiny train, but it didn't need a bustle. I don't know if I am particularly fond of trains on BM dresses. Maybe you can make it shorter so it doesn't have to be bustled but it is still a little longer in the back then the front.

Re: Train on Bridesmaid Dresses
One of my bms was telling me the train is a pain, you trip over it all night. Once of the dresses my MOH narrowed it down to for my bms has a train, but I don't think I would keep it.
But my girls are probably getting on and off a boat, so I don't want them to be able to trip over it.

My bm dresses have trains but im telling them to cut if off. I like it with the train but the fabric is chiffon and you cannot bustle chiffon. I dont want the girls to be tripping on it- so im just having them cut the train.

Re: Train on Bridesmaid Dresses
My friend just got married last month and we had jim hjelm dresses that had a small train. They looked beautiful and we bustled them after church. The only problem was throughout the reception everyone and their mother was stepping on my dress even with it bustled. By then end of the night the bustle was completely ripped out and my train was trampled. The other bridesmaids had the same problem.

Re: Train on Bridesmaid Dresses
sorry to crash but i was in two weddings one on sept 26th and one on october 12. Both dresses had trains and the one on september 26th ripped 10 minutes into the reception. Basically every bridesmaid had an issue. The one on oct 12: bustle was a little short but bustle was still ripped out by the end of the night. It was such a huge pain in the butt

Even with the small train I had for my friends wedding, I ended up ripping the dress... I stepped on it and my heel went right through the hem at the bottom. Just something to think about. But it was only me who did that.

In my sisters wedding all the BM dresses had about a 2 foot train. We wore them down for the ceremony and then bustled them for the reception.

Re: Train on Bridesmaid Dresses
For my cousin's wedding we had trains on our BMs dresses. WE CUT THEM OFF!!! Please let your girls cut them off. You don't want to have to worry about them dragging a train around all night long. And if you bustle it, it costs them even more money and we all know bustles break.

When you cut them off did it get tight around there legs? This happened to a friend of mine but I think its because the dress was mermaid style. My BM dresses are A line

Not at all! Our dresses were A-line, too. It just looked like a regular gown, for lack of a better explanation. There were 6 of us and we were all happy to take the trains off. I'd ask your girls their opinions, but my vote would be to have them hemmed off!

My BM dresses have a small train too.....I really don't like that part of the dress. My bridesmaids all decided to bustle them so they can match my dress.

Re: Train on Bridesmaid Dresses
We have itty bitty trains for Belissa's wedding and we're getting little bustles. Our material is light though so I think if it was heavy we probably would've cut them off...heres the dress (without the sash)
