Train or no train with poll

Train or no train with poll

This may seem like a bit of a strange question but it's something i need your opinion on. My dress has a cathedral length detachable train and when the train comes off the back of the actual dress is stunning (a complete replica of the train). I want to enter the reception room with my full train on so everyone can see the entire dress regardless of if they are at the church or not. I think i want to leave the train on for the first dance which we dance alone and then have it taken off before the first slow dance where everyone joins in which is the 2nd dance. Some people are telling me im crazy and should just take the train off during the cocktail hr and leave it off. Opinions?? Different options??

I love those dresses with detachable trains. I would say leave it on for cocktail hr and the first 2 dances. And right after that 2nd dance, take it off, like before the speeches. When else do you get to wear a train? I think by keeping it on during cocktail hr and the first 2 songs, everyone will get to see it whether they went to the church or not - like you said.

TY!! ooo good point!! It will be less noticable if i take it off after the 2nd dance! Im just happy i dont have to lug around the weight of the entire dress all night lol

how long is the train? i gotta say---the idea of leaving it on for the CH and stuff is great in theory--but that bad boy can weigh heavy and start to annoy you! i didn't bustle my gown until just before the reception (we did pics during CH)....and carrying that train around was getting to me. if you plan on attending your CH---you'll have to carry the train around...it might get to be too much

in that case --if you REALLY want people to see the train--just take it off for CH--and put it back on for the entrance & 1st dance.

but if it was me..i'd just take it off and leave it off.

How hard is it to take on and off? My friend had one of those detachable cathedral trains, and it wasnt a big deal to take off and put on. I'd say take it off for the CH, put it back on for the dance, then take it off for the rest of the party.

If it's a really long train you don't want it to get messed up during CH, if you plan on putting it on for your entrance during the reception

Thats a good point...It's basically 6 hook and eyes so its easy to take off and on. If i do end up going to the cocktail hr im thinking i should take it off so it doesnt get destroyed and so i can talk to people then while waiting for my ginormous bridal party to get announced in i can put it back on and then dance two dances and take it off.

I got a detachable train too, and I'm so happy! Just trying the dresses on with train was so heavy. In my opinion if you want to have the dance with the train on you should just put it on for the dance. My train isn't too hard to take on and off, so hopefully yours isn't either. If you wear it during cocktail hour it might get in the way or be just a bother to you. HTH

I voted for taking it off and leaving it off. I am sure you do not went to be carrying the train all over the place. It is bad enough that bride's dress are heavy.

I would take it off it might get in the way when you are dancing

I have a detachable train as well and I will be taking it off after the 1st dance….

I definitely think u should keep it on until after ur 2nd dress b/c
#1 when will u ever wear a train again
#2 when will u ever wear an expensive dress like this again, so milk it for everything it is worth!!!!!!
