Train Question - The Train of Your Gown that is! :O)

Hi,

I was just looking at a picture of my friend and her hubby on her wedding day. They are sitting on the floor and the photographer has her gown spread out nicely around her. It looks beautiful.

My question is this: How long is your train? My train is not that long and now I'm afraid I'm going to regret it. A long train in pics looks so pretty. Anyone else NOT have a train to their gown??

my train was detachable and VERY long...i wasn't so into it, but everyone else loved it and ooh and aah over it....is there any way you can add to it??

I have a cathedral train that I'll be cutting off and making into a shorter detachable train. Not sure yet what length it will be. I was looking for a dress totally without a train, but couldn't find any that I liked on the top, they were all too simple for me. Here is a picture of the train.

I had a sweep train or maybe a chapel, it was pretty short and I was grateful.

There is so much material to begin with that if it is spread out nicely it will look beautiful!

I do not have a long train. I am actually pretty relieved because I am the clumsiest person on earth.

I am sure your dress is beautiful. Some dresses because of the style of it look better without one.

Don't worry. Your photgrapher will be creative and show off your dress in its best light.

I'm sure you could add to it and make it a little longer if you're worried.The dress has so much material though so you are probably fine.

I have a train like alinas but it is organza so it see through and not too too heavy. I will have it bussled.

Thanks ladies. I guess my dress sort of has something. I have a pic, BUT it's only of the top. I want my dress to come in already so I can take pics of me in it!

Anyway, thanks again for the input. It's really appreciated. My dress is not really heavy, I'm just not sure where they can add something. Maybe I'm worrying over nothing. It didn't bother me until I looked at her pic.

See how your dress looks with you and hubby sitting? I LOVE THAT! I don't think my dress can do that

Oh well I guess I shouldn't worry now, my dress isn't even in my hands yet.

I LOVE my dress, don't get me wrong. When I tried it on I didn't even think about a train or not. I just knew I loved it.

My dress had a shorter train, but I had to have extra length added in b.c I am tall (5'9'), so the salesperson said I can extend the train w. the added material. I am sure it will be a bit heavy, but to me its worth it as I am getting married in a church, and always pictured a train behind my dress as i walk down the aisle (OK, I may have watched the Princess Diana wedding one too many times)

LOL! Thanks hmichick! You got me laughing! I guess that's what I keep picturing too, although it's not Princess Di, it's the wedding in the Sound of Music, where Maria marries the dad and OH MY what a train!

Yes Theresa! There are TONS of gowns that come with detachable trains! Like I said you'll know it's the right dress when you look at yourself and feel beautiful in it!

I had a train but it wasn't that long, and I was so releived when I could bustle it.

Mt train wouldn't be able to do the things Latina's did - its much shorter and you don't see it in most pictures. But thats the look I wanted. Here's a good shot of it (that I've posted a million times cause I love it)
