you can go with a longer veil to add more to the illusion of a lengthy train...

I have a Chapel train on my dress. It isnt long either, but I preferred it that way.

My train isn't too long either. I tried on a few gowns with long trains but I didn't like them on me.

I really don't have a long train at all but I do have a cathedral vail, that looks so beautifil. I'm going to use that to place my flowers on. I t still has the same affect as a train. Don't worry I'm sure you will look beautiful. good luck!!:)

chapel. do you add onto before dress is ordered? or is that considered part of alterations?

This is the back of my dress w/o a veil.
It's not too long, not too short.
For the ceremony, I will have a cathedral length veil, but for the reception, I will only wear my headpiece w/the armbands in this pic

When I started trying on dresses I knew I really liked the look of a train. I also wanted the cathedral length veil, so I ended up with both. Once you get to the reception you can bustle the train and remove the veil. I have a tiara so I'll wear that during the reception.
