Transportation for guests?? Necessary or no?

I'm having issues on deciding this...I have about 10 friends coming from MD (half in the BP)......FI has a few family members from out of state....& some of my friends from home want to stay in the hotel Sat. night after reception so they don't have to drive back to Suffolk

We're blocking off rooms at the Four Points Sheraton hotel in Plainview my question is...

do I provide transportation home for people who are not in the BP?? I feel like if I do that, then aren't some people going to expect transportation TO the reception as well?

I don't know what to do lol

I am thinking of providing a shuttle from the hotel to the reception... if it fits in the budget. it is so much easier on oot guests.

Does the hotel have a shuttle service by any chance?

If not, I would look into getting transportation to the reception and back to the hotel. It's a nice touch for guests traveling far

we're getting it bc the hotel i blocked off is a lil pricey but its the closest place.....therefor i dont want to add another expense to the guests.

We're doing a shuttle to and from the hotel. I would recommend doing it...especially if you have a younger crowd or people who really like to drink. We have both and we felt that it was worth the money knowing that people wouldnt be drinking and driving. Plus, its just more convinient for them.

Ask your hotel--ours is only charging $400 for as many trips as they have to make to and from the reception.

most of our guests are staying at the inn at east wind...but i also blocked another hotel 6 miles away...and i will be providing transportation to and from the reception. we are most likely also providing transportation from our hometown to the reception for our guests that would prefer not to drive...not everyone is staying out there and i want people to be able to have a good tiem at the wedding and not worry about driving home.
