Transportation options from hotel to reception and back
Hi, I was wondering if any of you girls had any ideas or thoughts on other options besides renting a bus or van to shuttle our guests. My budget is so tight and when I called my Hall today to ask for ideas, they couldn't have been less helpful. In fact telling me to call the house vendor limo company was his only suggestion.
Our hotel (Holiday inn, Ronk.) doesn't offer this at all, and won't even let us pay to use their vans.
Has anyone heard of or seen anyone use cabs? Or has anyone rec'd a great quote on doing this? We have a lot of OOT guests, and I want people to enjoy themselves and have a good time, but I also have very little wiggle room in my budget.
Any thoughts or advice is extremely helpful. Thank you in advance!

There was a post on here recently about someone who used a taxi company but used the minivans...I forget who it was though. Sorry!! I will try and find it for you!

i've seen people mention alert bus...
or maybe even try a regular school bus??

If your budget is that tight, I wouldn't even offer this. This is something nice to add IF you can afford it... but it's absolutely NOT necessary!

I have to agree. Is your RH that far from the hotel? If it's a far ride, then I would look into the cab company option. You could try Tommy's Taxi's (I think that's what it's called....the ones that always work by the Fire Island Ferries in Bayshore). They have nice air conditioned mini bus taxis that would work. But if the ride to the hotel is only like 10 minutes or so, I wouldn't bother.

Thanks ladies- The RH is Timber point CC in Great River, and the hotel is Holiday inn in Ronk. So yea about 10, 15 mins. I guess. I can just imagine people getting lost at the end of the night, and it's so dark around there and can see them missing the entrance onto Hecksher Pkway.
I got a quote for a school bus and they wanted 750... no thank you.
I will try Tommy's. Although they are such a rip off.. charging 6 bucks now I think to take you from Bayshore LIRR to FI Ferry.. puhlease!
