I've been planning on getting transportation for my guests to and from the hotel (the hotel doesn't provide it). I'm getting married at the reception hall so all I need is from the hotel to the reception and from the reception to hotel. After tracking people down and trying to figure out what I need there's only going to be between 8-15 people that may need the transportation to the reception hall and between 15-30 people that may need it to go back at the end of the night. It's a 10 minute drive between the two. I may be making this more complicated than it needs to be but I'm so confused what to do. Is it worth the trouble and $$ to coordinate?

Re: Past brides, are shuttles worth it?
first ask your hotel if they have them and see fi you can rent from them--- and yes its TOTALLY worth it! WE used the huntington Hilton for our hotel ( since the reception was there) and they gave shuttle service to and from the church-- and it was a relief that all my out of towners didn have to worry about driving and directins and getting lost in beach traffic!!!

Hey girlie! I would say it's a defininite yes to not have to worry about people drinking and driving or out of towners getting lost. Nobody says it has to cost a bundle - we just used a local taxi co that provided 15 passenger vans and and added bonus was that they only needed like 24 hours notice so i was able to find out how many people booked rooms from the hotel and just assumed they would all take advantage..which they did! (I did OOT bags and explained the shuttle times etc in the rooms...) Good luck with whatever you decide! See you next month!!!!!

for me it was a must! But also i got a deal of a lifetime for it...and there was no way we could of said No. I decided not to get a shuttle bus bc it was just way too $$ but I went w. a private limo company that had a van and did it that way!

i say no.... it's not your responsibility to make sure the guests get evertywhere... anytime i've gone to a wedding, i've gotten myself there and back. and either had a DD or was responsible enough not to drink to excess.
That said, I did shuttles because A) they came FREE with our hotel B) we had a lot of overseas guests that had NO car!
Overall, if it's something you can aoffrd, it's a nice touch... but don't feel obligated. also, you need to think about your guests...are there a lot of people without cars? etc....

I went to a wedding and we took the shuttle to and from the hotel...it was soooo nice because we could all enjoy ourselves and not have to worry about drinking and driving and all that. However, the hotel did provide it for free.

We have a lot of OOT guests so I know I would be needing it. When my sister got married, it was soo helpful. Plus she had the control of the time of arrival so the guests are there on time.
