Transporting Wedding Dress

Transporting Wedding Dress

We're getting married about 2.5 hrs away from where we live and I am wondering how the hell I'm going to manage bringing my gown all the way there without getting it too wrinkley.... Anyone else have this problem?

What about if you bought one of those smaller steamers that you could take with you and you'd be able to just steam out any wrinkles when you get there? I think BBB has them at reasonable prices.

I would suggest the same thing. Are you going there the night before? Try calling any nearby dry cleaners and see if they would steam it for you. Sometimes they dont even charge just to steam. I had to get mine steamed before the seamstress looked at it (Im having a lot done) and the next door dry cleaners didn't even charge us!

Those are some good ideas! I'll contact the place we're getting married and see if they can recommend a dry cleaners near by or maybe they even have steamers there. Thanks!

Try to just hook it to the garment hook in your car and lay the rest flat. I was told that the more you steam it, the more likely it is to get wrinkled while you are wearing it as the day goes on.

Hi- I have a suggestion- there is a company that will deliver things ahead for you- it is called Luggage Forward- you just package it up and they will deliver it to the place of your choice. I have used them for FH's golf clubs- they were wonderful!

i think the website is luggageforward.com if not just google them.

good luck!

Our car doesn't have a garment hook or back seats...hmm...I guess I need to find someone who is going down when we are with lotsa room in their car

Thanks, but we aren't getting married in the US so this isn't really an option for us.
