Traumatic!

So DH and I were driving out east near the vineyards. Not much traffic and each side of the street had 2 lanes. So DH is probably doing about 40mph. He is driving in the left lane and we start to see three ducks cross the street. DH slows down and comes to a complete stop just before where they were crossing. He had to brake a little hard, but it wasn't a big deal. So the cute little ducks are corssing. They looked so pleasent and I could swear they were smiling. They were crossing pretty slowly and DH sees a car comming from behind us pretty fast. So he flashes his hazards and honks his horn. Nothing. The car was probably going 70 mph. He ran over two of them. The road was long and stright. He obviously saw a car was completly stopped with hazards NEXT TO A DUCK CROSSING SIGN!!!! The ducks were not blocked by our car as they had already passed infront of it. The car didn't even attempt to slow down a little. Just ran them over. And then the thrird one stopped and just looked at the other two ducks. DH and I were soooo upset. Im still very upset. We feel so bad for teh third duck that is wondering why that happened to his friends.

OMG! Sometimes I really HATE people! What is WRONG with the world today? Sorry you had to see that. I would disturb me to no end if I had to watch that.....

OMG!!! That is so sad!!!! People are unreal!!

The worst is that we could hear it hit them. And I can still hear it in my head. Im still upset. They were so cute and just minding their own business and being all ducky and cute. I should have hung out the window and waved the car to slow down, but they were going so fast and it happend so fast I didn't think...


ETA: I was saying to DH it would have been sad, but not as bad if the car had tried to slow down, but couldnt safely and accidently hit them. Like DH actually came a little close to hitting them, but was able to slow down. And like obviously you can stop quickly when there are cars behind you. But this car didn't even try to slow down, and there was no one behind them! Thats why I am so upset!

Again....our friend Karma will step in and take care of his A$$!

I almost called you right after it happened but decided not to. I was so upset. I shrieked and serge like tried to grab my head so I wouldnt see. We were both upset!
