So FH and I pretty much know what we want (Excellence in Playa Mujeres) we went to Liberty TRavel today and was quoted $5300. I went on expedia and travelocity and am getting quoted of $4672. Does anyone know if LT price matches? What should I do? I can't give away that much money!!

I'm worried something will happen and I will need them but I am going to see bc for $600, I think I would rather deal with the stress of having to rebook etc if something goes wrong.

FYI: Found on their website a price match guarantee. I'll keep you posted whether or not they honor it tomorrow!

I ALWAYS book through LT, and yes they will price match! Just make sure that the quote you get online includes everything especially flight and transfers. Id DEF do it through LT rather than book on my own.
Once when I booked with LT, I had a slight room problem. I called my agent, Nicole (THE BEST!) and she fixed it right away. If there is a problem while you are away its nice to have your agent just a phone call away!

we went to EPM for our honeymoon and the price the travel agent gave us was the same as online but even though we booked through an agent we still purchased the insurance bc of hurricane season in the carribean ( i think it was $300)

Def purchasing the insurance. FH is a medical disaster and ridiculously accident prone. I would much rather be safe (esp knowing someone who had to pay $2000 for a Mexican dr to JUST SEE THEM) than sorry!

Re: Travel Agent
Im biased, but I say always go with an agent. You want to have someone to advocate for you if something goes wrong. Many resorts will never sell at a cheaper rate than what a travel Agent can book for you.
A Travel Agent is FREE, can help you get a better rate, and will often throw in goodies. It's definitely a win-win.
I'd look carefully at the travelocity deal vs. what your agent gave you. It may be for a different room category than what you were quoted by the agent. Usually when someone comes to me with a deal from one of those sites it's no deal at all, or it's missing certain elements of the package.
Or someone will tell me the booked direct and it was cheaper, and that's because they booked themselves into a room with a dumpster view, which I didn't want for them. This just happened recently, actually. Another thing is that these all inclusives have SO many room categories that 1) You might not be in the one you want with the web site and 2) At most resorts you really want someone who KNOWS the resort to book it for you. Sometimes rooms in the same cateogry can be in 3-4 different locations on the resort, and I mean drastically different. The website won't tell you that., but an agent can make sure you're where you want to be, whether it's right in the middle of the action, in a more secluded part of the resort, near tennis, near the spa, etc based on your preferences. Without that knowledge, it's the luck of the draw.

The travelocity quote didn't include transfers. I am def trying to book through an agent bc God forbif something goes wrong, I would rather them deal with it than me but just looking to score the best deal. So far she is including a honeymoon package, which like you said, travelocity would not be doing for us!
