So the one thing i slacked on changing my name on was my passport and now i am thinking about going to Canada for a long weekend this summer and ofcourse there are extra long wait times for passport stuff.
Can i just book travel in my old name and use that passport? Or should i do the if you are traveling in 14 days in person thing downtown?
Advice?
Thanks.

Re: traveling on old passport
From what I understand - until next year you don't need a passport to Canada, as long as you are DRIVING or taking a train in. Check out some government websites - they will all list the requirements. I know we went for New Years' this past year and we only needed our licenses...

i would book your ticket under your maiden name and use your old passport. this is what i am doing to travel to Italy this summer. the wait for a passport is so long at this point, i would rather be safe than sorry.
