traveling while preggo....?

traveling while preggo....?

My FIL just booked a cruise for us (The whole family is going) and they are paying for it. It's a cruise to alaska (my FIL always wanted to go- he's from isreal and always wanted to see alaska). It isn't until july, but DH and I are TTC. I'm not preggers yet, but would like to be by Jan/Feb.

What are the restrictions/what month should you not travel?

I don't want to tell FIL about us TTC yet and DH tried to work in the refund question if anything came up, but FIL insisted that he couldn't get his money back and no one will cancel (DH had to disquise the question as 'What if SIL gets cold feet and does not want to go at the last minute/a month before' so no one will get suspicious of us).

Anyway, thanks for listening and any advice.

As long as you are having a fine pregnancy and your doc is ok with it you should be able to fly until your 36th week (thats the week last allowed by the airlines). So if you are planning on being 6-7 months prego in Alaska you should be fine

You should check with the cruise line. Some don't allow women in their 3rd trimester. We were going to take a mini cruise (3 days) with ILs in early December down in Florida and the cruise line said they wouldn't let me board. I'm due late February, so it would have been around 30 weeks. Sorry, I don't remember off hand which line it was.

I agree, I went on the Disney cruise and I believe there policy was they didn't allow any women past her 20th or 24th week. Can't remember exactly.

I would ask your doctor and the cruise line. Cruises are hard to get off of if you needed to leave. It's a lot more difficult then just flying somewhere.
