Traveling with your E-RING.

Re: Traveling with your E-RING.

I recently went to the Dominican Republic. I was going to leave my ring at home and wear a fake one but we rushed (left late) and I forgot to change it. I never took it off even in the water and didn't have a problem. FH wasn't too happy though but it was okay.

I plan on buying a fake ring for my HM. Check out QVC. The diamonique rings are pretty nice.

I have thought of doing this....I feel like I am cheating on my ring. But, I might be ablet o find one that looks like it.

HAHAH i totally agree, but i think it's smart to get a fake one (something like less than $100). i don't know about you guys, but if i lost my ring, i wouldn't be able to replace it at the moment b/c the deductible on the insurance is still too high for me to afford right now

I have gone on three major trips with my e-ring (one being my honeymoon). I have never ever left it home for any reason. IMO, there is no point to have a nice ring if you aren't going to wear it. Get the ring insured and have a nice vacation.

I've traveled with it before. When i was on a cruise i would sometimes leave it in the safe if I was going to the pool but most of the time I just kept it on.

I've traveled with mine before and I've never had an issue. It fits properly so I'm never worried about losing it. One thing I did notice was that the hand sanitizer on the cruise made my ring look tarnished. It washed right off, but I made sure to apply it around the ring. Other than that, no worries. The salt water, chlorine, nothing affected it.

i wore my e-ring on the cruise i took in january. i had only been engaged about a month and couldn't think about parting with it for a whole week! i wore it the entire time, except when i was at the pool (afraid the chlorine would do something to it), and when we went on shore (no need to tempt anyone!). i'll be wearing both rings on my honeymoon- IMO, if you've got em, flaunt em!

When I went to Sandals Antigua last summer, I purchased a fake engagement ring that looked exactly like my real one. I didn't want to take a chance bringing it with me.

I plan on doing this as well. Not going to risk losing my ring or getting it stolen.

I don't think your real ring will mind

But I hear you. I would feel much worse if I lost it then if I wore a fake for a few days.

I lost my promise ring my FH gave me and I felt terrible. It was only $250 but the sentimental value was alot more. That's why I'm being extra careful with the ering even if it is insured. The ring was not only expensive, but the sentimental value of that particular ring is alot more. I would rather lock it up in a safe at home and wear fake rings for the HM.

My fiance proposed to me in Costa Rica.. and the ring was a size too small.. However I got it on LOL and wore it the whole time there..for the next 6 days!!! I wore it to a waterfall.. I wore it in the hot springs, I wore it EVERYWHERE.. and it survived lol.

Yeah....I think I am going to try my best to find the most similar replica one. I would be having a nervous breakdown even wondering if it was okay in the room safe! I am nutso. With my luck someone will break into it and take all of our belongings and my ering.

Re: Traveling with your E-RING.

I am not even bringing it on our HM. I would be devastated if I lost it. I know that's what insurance is for, but I LOVE my ring & if I lost it or some of the diamonds from it, it would def put a damper on my (& FH's) trip! Besides, we're going to Fiji and staying on private secluded islands. There'd be nobody to see it anyway!

I already bought a fake E-Ring...we have gone on a few trips since we have been engaged and didn't even want to take the risk of loosing it/getting stolen/etc. The fake e-ring worked perfectly and I will also be taking it on my HM

Re: Traveling with your E-RING.

I only take mine off when it's in my cleaner. We spent a few weeks in Croatia this past summer, and I never took it off. Spent some time in the Adriatic, and it wasn't an issue - if I was going to do serious swimming, I actually put a really tight plain band ring over it that I knew wouldn't budge. But I think I only did that twice. No problems! As long as it's insured, I'd say don't worry about it...unless it's like a family heirloom that's priceless...
