I want my reception to take place in a trendy lounge or night club. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've come across GLO, Savannah, and Zachary's. If anyone happens to know some price estimates as well, that would be great.

Chateau Briand has a room that kinda has a 'nightclub feel' and their CH room DEFINATLY does as well. Its not a night club, but the room I'm thinking of (dont remember the name), as well as the CH room (it has a huge bar) give off that feel!

I know what your talking about! I loved the CH room when I saw it - I kinda felt like I was in a manhattan lounge. It is really nice - and BIG!

to do a wedding in one of those clubs and any clubs it would cost ALOT unless you do it on a day thats closed. But on a weekend night, they will charge double what they normally do bc you have to make up the amount they would lose out on keeping it open. Also Glo, savannah and zacharys are kinda like places around forever and not really trendy, well mirage is now called Glo but ppl still consider it mirage. I tried doing a club for my e-party and most wanted me out early or if i wanted to stay past the time they would open i had to pay alot extra just for that.
BUT in the city theres lots of lofts, penthouses, art gallerys and that sort of stuff that will give you that feel and you can transform into the lounge look. These things also would cost more though but if thats what youre looking to do thats how you can do it.

well..it's not the greatest idea but I know that Bellport Country Club has this area of the reception that is lounge like and they have furniture that is free for set up and no rental fee, although you can bring in your own. You can make it any way you want, I was really interested until we got the Hyatt for other reasons but check it out...

check out the metropolitan in Glen Cove. Closet thing to a city feel. Beautiful bar and the band/dj can set up on top of it. Two levels in one room (balcony)
It was too small for me but I think it would be great for a clubby cocktail party.
Also very different and really old feel is the Metropolitan building in LIC. Also a very strange setup for a traditional sit down but great for a cityish cocktail party.

Check out Galapagos Art Space in Brooklyn. The director there is very helpful and their fee includes everything but the food. They'll even help with flowers/centerpieces so that you wouldn't have to hire a florist.

Re: trendy nightclub/lounge ideas
Glo, the old mirage, just changed owners and perhaps caterers so i'm not sure how things work their yet. It's no longer the Egyption esk decor. It is very trendy and will def be able to accomidate more people then Zachary's and Savannah.
Also check out Warehouse 5 over in island Park. It is new and right next to bridgeview yact club) I work for their house DJ as a dancer and we are house DJ for Savannah and Zachary's and Warehouse 5 so i've worked there a million times. Zachary's has more of a club feel then Savannah does. However, because they do have many separate lounge areas there isn't TOO much room for actual tables.
With Savannah they extended the dance floor last year so i believe 6 full tables can be used on the side of the dance floor. The view from those tables it not good at all. Between the two Zachary's i think might have more room. The food for both is really really good (i suggest penne ala vodka and their pepper steak). The person to speak with is Nancy.
Hope this helps

Oh, because they offer packages you can get really great deals with the dj company. Another plus with those places (Zachary's, Savannah, and Warehouse 5), is you don't have to worry about the DJ breaking all their stuff down while your guests are leaving. Everything is already there system wise. If you want a lounge feel and don't mind spending some extra $$ you could always use a reg. catering hall and rent club furniture.

Oh.. Posh in the garden city hotel. The club isn't open to the public anymore but i believe they still do parties there.

I agree with the Foundry in LIC and metropolitan building in LIC, they are gorgeous.
Also penthouse on 5th in the city is real nice, i know somebody who had their wedding there.
Went to a wedding recently at tribeca rooftop and would be perfect for a lounge, trendy place.
