Tricky Invites

Tricky Invites

Okay.

We are having our ceremony here on Long Island October 30th 2010.

Following the ceremony we will be meeting somewhere, location yet to be determined, for cake and other desserts and drinks. We don't want this to turn into a full blowout party. Not a meal. Just dessert! We haven't picked yet whether to do the 1pm or 3 pm ceremony but that could be a factor in how long people think they're supposed to hang around.

THEN, Dec 11, 2010 we are having a reception in Michigan in my hometown.

Everyone will be invited to both events though we don't really expect most people to come to both.

How do you guys think I need to word and layout this information on an invitation?

And then for the RSVP, I want people to let us know if they will be coming to ceremony, reception, both or neither. How do I word/layout THAT without it looking lame?

TIA girls!

Re: Tricky Invites

Maybe the RSVP card should have:

__ I will be attending both the ceremony in October and the reception in December

__ I can only make it to the ceremony in October

__ I can only make it to the reception in December

__ sadly, I can't make either one

That looks good to me!

I would send all the invitations together, and include a separate card for each event.

As in send an invitation to the ceremony, invitation to the reception, one rsvp card which includes all 4 rsvp options? but all in one envelope?

Re: Tricky Invites

i would send a separate invitation for the december reception

for now i would just have ceremony and dessert and cocktail reception.

then write something like formal invitation for michigan reception to follow.....

Re: Tricky Invites

I really want to get them all into one envelope somehow if possible. Not only will it save money on postage, but I want everyone to have all the info upfront.

Either way, it's a lot of people potentially traveling from Michigan to here and vice-versa.
