Tried Dresses on Today!!!

and found nothing that WOWed me Does anyone have any idea how long a Maggie dress would take to come in if I were to order within the next 2 weeks? Today I had a lot of problems with the beading under the arms really irritating my skin...they said that they could take some of the beads out but I just don't think that it's going to completely solve the problem...

ETA: I went to another place today and found two dresses that I love by Casablanca. Now I just need to make another appointment to have my mom and sister check them out! I'm so excited....I didn't think that I would find it this quickly!!!

You'll find something...don't worry...

My MOH is also getting married (June 6th)...she just ordered her Maggie about 3 weeks ago...you should be fine...just keep looking...

I too have heard that about the beading under the arms...they can def. take some off...

Keep looking online...and don't worry...you will find something...

Re: Tried Dresses on Today!!!

I ordered my dress (non-Maggie) this past Sunday...it's a halter top with a lot of beading all around the top and under the arms.

I was worried about the beading irritating my underarms, and when I mentioned this to my mom, she said, 'Will you be rowing a boat?'

And she's right...most of my arm movements don't require moving my arms so close to my torso (but that's me).

Was the beading bothering you because the dress wasn't the right size for you? The dress I tried on was 1 size too small (more like half a size too small), so I got a pretty good indication of where the beading would be touching.

07er crashing...my second choice dress had beading and lace right under the arms, and part of the reason (aside from my number one choice being 'the one' ) I didn't go with it was that I *knew* it would end up irritating my skin and drive me nuts throughout my wedding day. If it didn't WOW you, I would keep looking. (side note: both of my top two choices were Maggies - I ended up wearing the Angel style)

The dresses were mostly too small on me because I have a big chest...some of the beading was okay because it wasn't sharp, but most of it was painful even if I didn't move my arms! I also tried on two halter style dresses and again they didn't work for me at all because I have a big chest...I guess I will have to keep looking! But thanks for the feedback I appreciate it!

Thanks for your input! I don't care if you're not an 08er I still can use all of the info as possible! I knew that the beading was going to be too painful the second I put the dresses on so it would never last all day!! I am in love with so many Maggie dresses I just don't know if I'd be able to get them in time for my 6/28 wedding!

I like the beading on top but in moderation! And little to no beading under the arms...I guess my skin is just too sensitive! I love the Michelle dress Maggie Sottero makes. The rouching (sp?) is very flattering on me!

There is that word rouching again...lol...never heard it in my life until the wedding planning began...LOL...sorry...off on a tangent.

...anyway...I do agree...the rouching is very flattering...I choose one with rouching as my MOH dress for my girlfriends wedding in June.

Re: Tried Dresses on Today!!!

I just ordered my Maggie on Monday. It will be in in April. I would try to get your order in before Christmas because several bridal salons told me that all the factories that make the dresses stop production in January. Sorry to scare you, but wanted to let you know you can get it in time, just keep looking, and order soon.
I went crazy picking mine too -- shopped every day for 2 weeks straight because I waited so long to start. Good luck -- it such a great feeling to finally order it!

I ordered mine in...let's see...4/24/07 for my 10/21/07, and I believe it came in around two months before my wedding. So, timewise, I wouldn't worry if you were going to order one around now. I got mine from Lillette's in Baldwin and had a fantastic experience there (Carol helped me with the dresses), in case you were looking for a shop to try. HTH!

Oh Boy! Do some dresses take longer than others based on the demand?

Re: Tried Dresses on Today!!!

Does anyone know if certain dresses take longer to order than others based on demand? Or do all dresses from a designer take the same amount of time?
